Yesterday we took a trip to the animal shelter to take some blankets for the animals so they wouldn't be cold. While we were we decided to take a look at the animals.
A half hour later we came home with a new addition to our family. Neither one of us could resist this dog. He was so polite and quiet and yet lively. He had been badly abused and I am a sucker for abused animals.
According to the staff when they first got him he had a wide collar imbedded into his neck. They had to cut it out if his skin. They also had to operate on one of his hind legs. It was broken so badly he ended up with a 4 inch scar.
The next thing you know we were asking if we could interact with him. He was playful and seemed to like both of us. That was it he adopted us.
He seems to have attached to both of us and follows us around. He don't want either one of him our of his site. He seems to be afraid he will be left again.
Anyway, he is a terrier mix. He weighs 44 lbs. and is a medium size dog. He is sweet, quiet, and affectionate. When he gets over being so scared I will take a picture of him. We love our Buddy already.

Welcome to your new addition and I'm sure he'll be very happy in a loving environment. It's so sad to hear about the abuse of animals.

Susan I understand completely. My first cat was 13 weeks old and a little butter ball and she was put out in the street at that age. My second cat was found 2 days after she was born left to die and they nursed her back to health and then after 3 months the lady said she was allergic and was looking for a home for her. I just lost my cat that I loved so much so took her in. It was hard to get information out of the lady so I did not know much. She was never taught manners so she can bite at times. She can be so affectionate too and I know she wants love and she buries herself into me while she are laying on the couch. It is like she cannot get enough of me. I just hope she is happy.
