What Luck!!!!!

My brother, sister-in-law, and Lulu, their dog, are on their way down to their condo next to ours in Florida for the month. They are on the only plane leaving today from Westchester, New York airport. All other flights have been cancelled. All other airports have cancelled all flights. They had to wait until the jet was de-iced, but are in the air and will arrive in Palm Beach 45 minutes later than expected. We will pick them up. I had a rough night worrying, since a blizzard is pelting our area up north. I thank my lucky stars we are where we are. I hope my USA friends stay warm and safe. Remember, this too, shall pass.

It's so bizarre to think that so many places are in this freeze . . . and here I am looking out the window with the sun right there. It's about mid 70s during the day here! I am actually a bit envious of those who get such beautiful winter weather, but then again I realize I have to be careful what I wish for.

They certainly lucked out! They were on the first and only flight out of NY, very close airport to CT. They are coming here for dinner soon. I worried all night for nothing. lol

Thanks so much. My brother and sister in law made it down safely, just before the airport closed. Our son and daughter in law stayed home and didn't drive. New York City actually closed schools, which is unheard of.

I feel excited, just reading this post, like I am on the way to Florida too... (I remember the feeling whenever we were about to travel to another country. Those were the days! )

To me, half the fun of traveling is the anticipation. I get more of a thrill leaving my own state or country. There is nothing better than traveling to foreign countries. It sounds as if you've done lots of exotic traveling, Darcy.
