Of New Year and whatnot

Jan. 1st is typically just another day in the calendar for me but my 2017 ended pretty special because of my cousin's wedding - which also means a gathering with my extended family.
There were two receptions, one at home and another one on New Year's eve at a banquet hall. We attended both ceremonies. The picture you could see up there was the wedding dais set up for the event at home (sorry, couldn't get a better angle - my aunts were too busy chit chatting right in the center and I didn't feel like interrupting their chat 
).
I'd be off to another state about 4 hours away later this afternoon and would spend the entire weekend there with the family. So that's another exciting thing I'm looking forward to before getting back into my work routine on Monday.

Good to hear that you enjoyed two reception parties and now you are going to spend your weekend with the family.

Thank you! Yeah the dais is almost a must at weddings here, some like it simple, some more elaborate but I think the one they had was lovely.

I just recovered from a post-vacation withdrawal, it was a pretty similar feeling.
