Virgin No More

I contemplated about this for months. I've read a lot on what to expect and I even watched youtube videos several times. And finally, that day came, January 5th! I booked an appointment at 11am and moved it to 12:30pm. Was taken into a room, was told to undress and change into a pink robe sans the undies. I conditioned my mind not to be self-conscious at all. I made myself ready for this. Then it was time and as expected...Ouch! That really hurt! If you come to think of it, no sane woman would spend good money to have hot wax painted on to her nether regions so that hair can be ripped from the roots! I had a bikini wax and I'm getting it done regularly. No more shaving for me.

I didn't go bare though. I don't have hairs on my legs and arms at all. Just underarm and the bikini area.

It took me months before I finally dived in. It's way much better than shaving. Summer is coming soon here and I love wearing bikinis. The skin is so smooth after waxing I can't imagine going back to shaving now. They said the pain becomes less and less as you get used to it. I hope my next session will be much better.

@DesirousDreamer I think once you've tried it, you'd want to do it regularly. Back in my 20s, I'd never imagined I would ever do it at all. Back then, it was kind of a taboo here. But now that I'm almost 40, I've decided to be bolder.

@toniganzon That is good you enjoy it! I don't really have reason to do it haha I don't wear bathing suits that often and no partner to impress, so I rather take care of my lady bits myself, it would be intersting to try.

It's way much better than shaving and I know I can handle the second session pretty well before I finally go Brazilian! The skin is really smooth after waxing. Though I've been going there for an underarm wax regularly, I only took the courage to do the bikini wax yesterday and I don't regret it at all. if you're thinking of getting one, you have to condition your heart and mind first lol! You can take Tylenol or other pain meds an hour before if you don't have high tolerance for pain. I have high tolerance for one so I was able to endure it. OH and it didn't take long. Just about 15 minutes or less.

@infatuatedbby Oh yes they do. It helps that you go to a reputable salon with great service. I've been told that the longer you shave, the thicker the hair gets and the more painful it is to wax plus the ingrown hairs! That made me quit shaving.

@toniganzon I am a big chicken I would totally have to condition my heart, mind, all the above. Did they have you listen to calming music? I don't have high pain tolerance, even a little needle freaks me out. One day I will take the plunge and be brave like you are!!

I was told that the next session would be less painful. I've been told too that those who shave often would experience pain more the first time they have a bikini wax than those who haven't shaved at all.

@LadyDuck I don't have much hair too but I'm really comfortable when my underarms are smooth and hairless. I have none on my legs. I only had the bikini lines removed as well but I do plan to go full Brazilian after two or three bikini wax sessions. Bikini season is coming soon and I don't want any accidents.

@toniganzon It is true that the following session are less painful, I only remove the bikini line, because it's ugly if it shows. I have very little hair on my legs and underarm, they are blonde, easy to remove with wax.

@ridingbet If it's not Brazilian then it's not included. However, if it's Brazilian then they take everything off including the hair in your butt hole. That is what I intend to do after two more sessions of the bikini wax.

@toniganzon then the skin previously waxed will be discolored red, because of the pulling out of the tiny hairs? sorry, but i am imagining the procedure here.

Is that the same as Brazillian wax? I watched a video of that sometime in November and I feel like it's a cool thing. The woman who was in the video said that it was painful but she can keep up with the pain.

Here in our country, when we say Brazzilian wax it's removing all the hair down there including the butt area and bikini wax is removing the top and the sides of the hair, living some in the middle. My original plan was to have a Brazilian wax but I was advised to start with just a bikini first and if I could endure the pain, I could go all the way. I think I'd try bikini for the first three sessions and go full Brazilian thereafter.

OMG! I read the post, tried to understand what the whole thing was about. Thought you had a pap smear test. Gee, I laughed and laughed when I came to the ending. You are brave! I haven't let anyone hurt me that way yet (except for the blood tests & a few biopsies now and then, nothing else!).

I succeeded in making you guess and I'm glad you had a good laugh. That was the intention of this post. I used to post a lot of things in the past that made people guess and laugh at the end. I'm glad to do it once again. I really tried to gain the courage or even mastered it before entering the salon. I'm really glad I did though. It's all worth it. No more shaving for me.

There's no such thing as painless way when it comes to bikini waxing. I have high tolerance for pain so was able to endure my first one without taking any pain meds an hour before. I've read that the pain becomes less and less as you get used to it though.

That's why I'm going to do it regularly. But the sessions after gets less and less painful as the hair thins out. It' much better than shaving....way better than shaving. And the charge for male clients are more expensive than the female's.

How was it? Was it painful? Do you have the option in your country to do laser hair removal? Guys here in the United States love a girl that is clean-shaven down below!

Yes we have laser removals here. There'll be several laser procedures before the hair is eventually done and it should be done consistently. Yes the waxing procedure was painful, no doubt about it. But it was satisfying. Bikini season is coming soon and I need to go to the was salon maybe first week of March. Wanna join me?

It's bearable. Depending on your pain tolerance. Others have to take pain meds at least an hour before. I didn't have to. I was told for those who regularly shave, it's more painful than for those who haven't shaved at all.

@Shivram59 It would have the same effect as shaving. I think it's best you go for a professional salon for waxing if you haven't tried shaving at all. It's less painful for those who haven't shaved at all.
