"Homeless and Hungry". I happened to have a granola bar in my purse so I stopped and rolled down my window. The guy came over and I handed it to him, or should I say tried to hand it to him. He looked at the granola bar and said "Oh, I don't want that." And walked off!!!
I don't know about you but if it were me and I was holding a sign that said "homeless and hungry" I think I'd take the granola bar, whether I liked it or not.
Unreal! What do you think?

Maybe he never heard of the saying that says that beggars can't be choosers. Maybe that is why he is hungry. He is too picky.

if i was that hungry,i'd eat it..but to be fair,i don't like granola either..

I agree with you ! They shouldn't be choosy ! They should take what is offered to them!

@1hopefulman @creativeaashish Why should a beggar take all the food that is offered to him? A beggar isn't a bin who swallows everything.
Once I saw a beggar sitting beside the door of a bakery. I asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. He said that he had just had a cup of coffee and couldn't eat cake because he had diabetes. I gave him the money instead I had intended to spend.

@MALUSE The sign said he was hungry. A granola bar is good food. If I was hungry I would eat it.

@1hopefulman That can be said. But he might have already tasted that before. And he might be searching for the money to be able to make arrangements for the housing.

Many beggars are not hungry nor homeless. With that sign they can get a lot of money.
