Correcting 'the' (maybe 'your-,' maybe 'my-') Definition of ''Apologetics''

I consider myself an 'Apologetic'---sort of a "Christian Apologetic," but ... not exactly ...
See, I'm in an 'Apologetics'-group or two on Facebook; and I frequently respond to their 'proclaiming the glory (or whatever 
)' with "how actual evidence tells a different story."

See, I've always seen "Apologetics" as a sort of 'negotiation' - that is, I'm a Christian because 'the Amazing Grace' is "the pure blade" that lasts while "the forge-fire" (reason, logic, evidence, proof, etc.) burns-off the 'old thinkings.' (Like the forge God speaks of in Isaiah 54: "Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy")
