“10:15 Saturday Night” makes the cut because it was my introduction to the Cure. I first heard the song in the middle of the night on KROQ and was sold on the band. The Cure are one of the most important and greatest groups of the new wave era who still command a devoted following. They began in the punk revolution in the UK and founded by school friends Robert Smith, Mick Dempsey and Lol Tolhurst. The dynamic Smith wrote “10:15 Saturday Night” at a6 when he was sitting around bored and depressed. “And the tap drips drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip Waiting for the telephone to ring” The song demo led to their being signed to a record label. “10:15 Saturday Night” is the opening track to their debut album “Three Imaginary Boys.” The Cure are another new wave group outrageously snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

That doesn't sound like "Just Like Heaven." Look at young Robert Smith there. Never knew he looked so....."un-goth."
