Been helping wife with her organic garden...

I am trying to help my wife work on her small organic garden. Well, she's very active on it, and she consistently treats the soil to make it at least good for plants. Our area here has more clay than the black soil that is ideal for gardening. Right now, we have a regular Okra harvest, just a few tubes good for us two. Okra is really great, especially if you want a nice bowel habit...

Good for you. We have done that one here at home too. I have turmeric, ginger and a few other vegetables. I would suggest you use compost for fertilizer - from vegetable peels or food left overs. I also have a post here where I detailed tha I was planning to donate some seedlings of fruit trees to an foundation.

Yes, she is doing a compost fertilizer from vegetable peels. I would like to read your post. She started this a few weeks ago. We've been here in our new place for about 5 months, but we are all busy with our twins, so we have started out, we also grow malunggay.

@primeaque86 If you can find those "ipil-ipil" trees, their leaves are good organic fertilizers when dried. Sometimes we just bury it in soil and leave it to decompose for 2 weeks before planting anything. image source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leucaena_leucocephala#/media/File:Leucaena_leucocephala.jpg

Organic gardening has always been something I'd like to do but never got to beginning it. I hope someday I'd finally find time to start one. There's nothing better than serving food that is safe and healthy not only to our families but to the environment as well.

You have to alot 10-15 minutes of it. First things first, you must have the seeds and the materials. Prepare it first, make sure you have a spot and cultivate the soil. Add fertilizers then rest.. do it again the following day. I'm sure even at that phase you will be able to accomplish something before the week ends.
