Cable

In places around here they only have one or two cable companies at the most per neighborhood that serve them.. In one neighborhood I lived at our neighbors across the street had one service and we had another! Weird! So we have to deal with the one here at our apartment complex. We have lived here about a month and a half and the cable a little less time. We only had it on about five days and it went down and I called and they rebooted it from the office. But then about two weeks later, after I had been having some more issues with it the cable box went down again and I called to get it rebooted again. The person that I spoke to told me that if it did it again they would need to bring a new cable box out with no charge to me. Two night's later it did go out and I called they rebooted it and set an appointment for a tech to come out and bring me a new cable box a few days later. A few days later he came to my apartment and said that because the TV was on he could not tell if it needed a new box......Duh! Left me his card and said if it acted up again to call him personally and he would come put a box in for me! The very next afternoon it did not go out, but was having some of the same issues that I needed a box for anyway. And he immeadiatly said that he would come put a new box in............ not see if it was running like he said before The next morning he called me and said that a time for him to come would not be till Thursday and that was Monday morning!.Normally I would get an email telling me when he was coming and a reminder text the day before. I did not get any of them. A tech shows up and it is not the same one. He said that he was told that he had to bring a new box out I wanted the DVR service. Which I did not say But I knew that if I told him ,"No" that it would take forever for them to come back out here to bring me the right box. Now I have been getting Hulu basically to get to watch "General Hospital", but now that I have the DVR service for almost the same price then I will probably cancel Hulu. I don't know yet I have to talk to my daughter when she gets home.

The one thing I do not like about that service is that if a show is usually on at let's say 8:00 to 9:00 and the president came on and made the show that I was recording come on at 8:15- 9:15. Than I would see 15 minutes of someone I do not want to watch and still miss the last 15 minutes of the show.

We can only have comcast here, as basic cable thru them is included in our rent. But we have hundreds of channels, and hbo and ondemand. Hardly ever had problems thankfully.
