I was greeted by meatloaf

When I came home last night I was greeted by the smell of meatloaf. No, not the musician. Hubby had meatloaf and potatoes ready to eat. I added some veggies and we ate an early meal. This is what my doctor says I need to do. We even had ice cream for dessert. I am experiencing lots of waking all night, so anything that makes life easy is a blessing to me. It is supposed to be a moderately warm day today. I am looking forward to the brief respite before another cold front moves on through.

I never sleep well, it has always been the case since I was a kid. I do not need many hours of sleep.

I am needing more now than when I was younger. Actually my sleep pattern is connected to my blood glucose levels, I believe.

@GardenGerty Yes, when my blood sugar level drops, I immediately wake up around 3:00 in the morning.

@GardenGerty This is not my problem, usually this happens to people who has diabetes, even mild diabetes.

Meatloaf is a nice meal but we rarely have it. It must be time I made one I think. I usually cook on Tuesdays so this coming week might just be the week we have meatloaf again.

@GardenGerty I'm sure you're right. I'm always getting ideas for discussions from the comments on these posts.

@BarBaraPrz I love it. I like that we can joke around here and share our lives and laugh, or cry as the need arises.

I just saw that you were greeted by meat loaf and then the smell. I was thinking he must have skipped out on the shower the last few years. I do love me some meat loaf (the food) with lots of ketchup. Never understood why some folks don't like it.

For some it is a texture thing. I learned to like it as I got out of my childhood.

@cupkitties My son has a few texture issues. He described meatloaf as being meat flavored oatmeal.

@GardenGerty Ah..Now, that makes a lot of sense. My mom never cooked meatloaf while we were growing up, so the first time I had it was as an adult. I expected to hate it because all I ever heard about it was "Ewww".

We have many cold days, with an occasional warm one mixed in. It will be that way for at least another month or so.

We are suppose to get more snow tomorrow, up to seven inches just south of us. I haven't made meatloaf in quite a while. Maybe I'll plan one for this week! :)

I honestly would love it if we got a good solid snow. It makes the cold temperatures feel more worthwhile.

@kobesbuddy I think we have only had about an inch of snow one time, flurries another. We really need the moisture.

@GardenGerty We haven't gotten lots of snow this winter. Everyone around us gets 5-6 inches, while we end up getting 1 inch. It's strange, but this winter hasn't been that harsh, except it does get pretty cold.

I was about to Sing "I will do everything for love" but oh well wrong topic. Sneaking veggies on meat loaf is the best way to make picky eater carnivore people to eat veggies.

Yes. Hubby likes to cook, actually. He just does not do the clean up he should. Oh well, I can do it even while I am here on myLot. In between visiting with friends.

Hubby used to always bring me coffee in bed, because I told him my dad did that for my mom for years. I love those surprises when he does do it now.

How wonderful that the hubby basically had dinner ready for you when you got home. Why are you waking up throughout the night. It is miserable when you can't get enough rest.

I believe I am waking up due to the effects of the new antibiotic on my body and on my blood sugar. I will take some melatonin tonight.

I have taken magnesium for a long time, it helps muscle cramps. Two herbs that help are Fenugreek and Milk Thistle. My doctor thinks I have some kind of an infection that is making my numbers a bit higher.

Over the years I found that I could not sleep well when I have a late dinner. So for years now I am having a very light dinner between 5 or 6 p.m. and I have no problem falling asleep.
