Have you eaten grits, and if so, which kind do you like?

Grits of course, are a Southern thing, I never even had them until I went on vacation with my family as a teen and they served them in Maryland. I like grits..but I don't have them often. I would say a couple of times a year. I like the cheesy kind the best. If I didn't have more of that hash brown casserole to eat, i might have some tomorrow..Grits y'all??

I love grits. I rarely make them, though, because they are a Southern thing and not common in NJ.

You should try shrimp and grits sometimes. They are awesome together. There are lots of recipes around for that combo.

@NJChicaa It is, and I even screwed up the recipe. It were soupy and weren[t supposed to be but the recipie tasted so good I ate it all anyway.

Grits appeared regularly on the table when I was a child. I saw it as flavourless mush. Oh well.

I don't care for grits but chances are that's because I never had them cooked properly. Even so, this is one of the best scenes from My Cousin Vinny

I love grits. Although my husband is a southerner from Arkansas, he had never heard of grits! Can you imagine??? He said, "Show me a grit tree." I can't seem to make them as well as local restaurants, but one dish I really don't like is shrimp and grits. Mixed together. Keep my grits and shrimp far apart.
