Good Morning 2/19 Happy Presidents Day!

What do you think of when you think of Presidents Day? I would guess most people don't spend too much time thinking of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln..
. I mostly think of no mail, and a day off for government employees. I should have insisted my son come down since he has a 3 day weekend, but I didn't think of it when I was talking to him. Oh well, he will have fun sleeping in for a change I guess..! Lots of sales this day as well..What does Presidents Day mean to you?

Just means the banks and library are closed and no mail delivery today.

Yep, when I lived in the Alexandria area we went to Mount Vernon for free on Presidents Day. I think some of the other Presidential sites might be free today too. James Madison's Montpelier is the closest to here, but still a 45 minute drive..like everything..

What holiday does Switzerland have that we don't celebrate here? I know about Boxing Day celebrated most places..and the bank holiday here I think is akin to Labor Day. What is a uniquely Swiss holiday?

@snowy22315 A uniquely Swiss Holiday is the 1st of August, Swiss National Holiday, the equivalent of your 4th of July.

Presidents Day means no mail, my husband slept in today, and we have the car parked in our driveway:) I'm enjoying my freedom, as an American citizen!

It use to be a great day to teach the kids about the amazing presidents we have had. Those that work hard for the betterment of the American citizens life.
Now? I'm not celebrating it. The current president doesn't even know what land areas he is president of!
He probably meant to say he met with Kenneth Mapp, the governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
