Do Not Disturb!

So I know it is only Tuesday, but do you ever have one of those weeks when early on, your just know you are in desperate need of a day off?? That is where I am, I already went to my Saturday and Sunday on the calendar and wrote "Do not disturb, I ain't leaving the house for nothing! You'll need a bulldozer to get me out of the house this weekend!" It is my weekend off. I am hiding under the covers and not going anywhere. How about you? have you ever just said "Do not Disturb?" The real challenge for me will be sticking to it.

Hmmm... well, yeah, I guess I have done that before, Kim. I usually tell Pretty that if there is anything she is going to need/want she needs to tell me when I get home on my 'Friday night' because I am not getting out of bed until I get up to shower on 'Monday'! (I don't actually get weekend days off work. I usually do get two days in a row off, but most of the time I am off Monday and Tuesday.) The few times that Pretty tried to get me out of bed after I warned her I wasn't getting up I told her if she needed something that bad, it was only two miles to a Walmart or there is a grocery store a block away from our house. She has two feet and is perfectly capable of hoofing it! Once she yelled through my bedroom door, "You think you're pretty funny, don't you?!" I replied, "Hahaha!"

@mom210 I should certainly hope they could either walk that or ride their bikes there, Kim! Until I was almost 17 the only ways I had to go places without begging my parents to take me was my bike, walking or on horseback.

@mom210 Good, I am glad you got it, good luck with being alone lol. Have your husband take the kids on a Sat. out for a fun day and then you will have a few hours alone.

Even in your desperation, I like your enthusiasm. Yup, had many of those. I usually have a secret technique that I use once a year too...because I am so strict disciplinarian (with me) I scratch out one day from the calendar and there are no rules on this day!. There are times when you have to pamper yourself.

I agree we do need to pamper ourselves sometimes, keeps us sane. They would not like me if I did fall over the deep end hehe

@mom210 Actually it is the sane thing to do (pamper yourself) Life is just too short to be slaving 24/7/

No body demands me to pay attention so life in my house is good. The hubs has his stuff and I have mine, we do share meals and talk once in a while

Well, when I want a day off or time alone, I go to the mall, buy something for myself and eat my favorite foods. Usually, that's on a Sunday. Though sometimes, I just stay at home with my hubby, just sleeping after lunch and watching videos with him. Of course, I am ready with foods for that.

@mom210 At least the kids makes you all active. As we are getting old, we need a lot of movement to keep us active and healthier both in body and mind.

I did, I had to tell the hubby that I did not want to go to the store with him though. I did not even want to go on a little trip like that, just wanted to be a slug in the house, it felt soooo good!

when i am busy doing the grades of my students, my sister and son won't talk to me. they know i am concentrated with what i am doing; hence, an invisible 'don't disturb' is hanging on top of my head.

My kids often laughed, reminded me of that famous saying of mine, 'my wish is to have some peace and tranquility' (to answer their curiosity at the time when they were toddlers, 'mom, what do you wish for, the thing you would like to have most?')
