Do Not Disturb!

Saturday is my birthday and it is my intention to celebrate. Sunday I will rest.

yes. and of course, something always comes up that requires me leaving the house.

Hmmm... well, yeah, I guess I have done that before, Kim. I usually tell Pretty that if there is anything she is going to need/want she needs to tell me when I get home on my 'Friday night' because I am not getting out of bed until I get up to shower on 'Monday'! (I don't actually get weekend days off work. I usually do get two days in a row off, but most of the time I am off Monday and Tuesday.) The few times that Pretty tried to get me out of bed after I warned her I wasn't getting up I told her if she needed something that bad, it was only two miles to a Walmart or there is a grocery store a block away from our house. She has two feet and is perfectly capable of hoofing it! Once she yelled through my bedroom door, "You think you're pretty funny, don't you?!" I replied, "Hahaha!"

Haha, so did you get your weekend off and get to do nothing. I tried that when my kids were little and it never worked, hell I have tried it now and it still doesn't work. Hope you got yours

When I was working I'd be desperate for a day off but it doesn't happen now I'm retired.

Even in your desperation, I like your enthusiasm. Yup, had many of those. I usually have a secret technique that I use once a year too...because I am so strict disciplinarian (with me) I scratch out one day from the calendar and there are no rules on this day!. There are times when you have to pamper yourself.

I haven't experienced that in awhile, but I can see why you would feel that way. You are one busy lady!

yes back when i needed that i could not get a day off doing things either. now its a whole different story

No I am always pretty social, but especially here in Florida, there are not a lot of things going on.

No body demands me to pay attention so life in my house is good. The hubs has his stuff and I have mine, we do share meals and talk once in a while

I've been on the run here in Florida since December. I intend to hang a do not disturb sign on my door when we return home in April!

I live alone and I can do what I like everyday. I hope you got what you asked for!

Well, when I want a day off or time alone, I go to the mall, buy something for myself and eat my favorite foods. Usually, that's on a Sunday. Though sometimes, I just stay at home with my hubby, just sleeping after lunch and watching videos with him. Of course, I am ready with foods for that.

So, I gotta ask - Did you stick to it? Or did you end up going somewhere and getting talked into doing something?

when i am busy doing the grades of my students, my sister and son won't talk to me. they know i am concentrated with what i am doing; hence, an invisible 'don't disturb' is hanging on top of my head.

My kids often laughed, reminded me of that famous saying of mine, 'my wish is to have some peace and tranquility' (to answer their curiosity at the time when they were toddlers, 'mom, what do you wish for, the thing you would like to have most?')

Yes but it never happens.
