Close the Refrigerator Door

Oh man it was a bit chilly today here in the lower desert of southern Mexifornia.
It started off nice, sunny and a mild breeze that reminded you of the sort of cool
air you get when you open the refrigerator door.
As the day went on, it just got cooler, then chillier, then colder. The breeze also
went through changes from a wisp of air to a flow of rustling leaves and then a
forceful but yet gentle wind bringing all the fallen leaves to dance around the
ground like embers in a bonfire.
From the afternoon on the skies got filled with more heavier clouds that just got
darker and menacing. It was as if the sky was getting depressed but was not
allowing itself to cry.
I am currently just here sitting in my kitchen doing the mylot thing, but it is and
I can feel it getting colder by the minute sort of thing. Right now I wish mother
nature would just shut the refrigerator door already.

@sjvg1976 wish you a Happy Holi!
Yesterday there was a news in Times of India saying that there will be heat waves in these summers in many parts of India. Also water availability and power supplies will be impacted, which is very worrying indeed.

That was beautifully written.
Though I am tempted to ask what "cooler" is.
Here in Minnesota it is 20 degrees today. We got a boatload of snow yesterday.
It is pretty because the sun is out now and it's bright and clean looking. But I am very tired of winter and also hope that nature would just shut the freezer door already

well last week it barely hit 80 , then it dropped to the low to mid 70s now its in the low 60s, the wind makes it seem colder. for a low desert environment, it is a dry cold. and at a current temp of 59 with an expected high of 61 for the day, its cold for us desert people.

@FayeHazel - we are just reptiles here. desert landscape is mostly barren land with dry looking tumbleweeds, grass and cactus. and sand.

@Plethos Not to be rude ... but I'm trying not to laugh right here. 59? That's t-shirt weather.
Though I admit I would LOVE to see nothing but desert landscape. So pretty!

Do not turn into an icicle, Plethos. Keep shut the ref door.
Oh my, it must be a punishing cold. I did get to chat with my sister and she said the same thing.
What do you sip to keep warm? Soup, coffee, tea? Please stay out of the chills.

I like your descriptive style of writing. Are you expecting snow or are you expecting a storm?

@Gita17112016 - probably a bit similar to you. but dry. some humidity during late summer. sunshine most of the year, except for that one week when we have winter, spring, and fall all in that one week

@Plethos If you don't mind my asking, what does it feel to live in the edge of the dessert, I am in a temperate country and it's way too hot for me (35 degrees C) . Today we experience 22 Degrees C and we were huddled under blankets in the living room. I have never experienced hail or snow.

If only it is as easy as closing the ref door, then it would be fine to be so cold.
t has been rainy and cold the past months since December. Though it would be sunny on one or two days,, after that it's rainy again.
Though I like the coldness, I am now hoping that it will be summer already.
