Shopping for Winter Wear in February

Happy Thursday all! Did not sleep great last night so these next 8 hours are going to be a challenge for sure. How is everyone elses Thursday shaping up? I decided to do something crazy this weekend -am taking a 2 hour beginners course in snowboarding! While I can rent equipment what is needed is I must have snow pants. Snow pants, which I havent owned for many years. This is probably my fault for waiting so late in the winter season but winter is still very much so in gear throughout March even. Yet, it seems impossible to find any winter gear in late February being sold at stores. Big box stores like Target and Walmart already have gotten rid of most of their wintery items in lieu of... swim suits and shorts. Despite that it will be several months before us Minnesotans can even wear these things. This is good and bad. On one hand, many wintery items go in clearance or sale as early as December. Which gets us better deals since December is just the beginning of winter for us here. Does your area do this too? So after running to two separate thrift stores, Walmart and Target I came up empty handed. I think the next step is finding a sporting goods store and seeing if they have any. The downside to that is spending a big chunk of money on something you might only use a handful of times. Anyone else have problems like this? Do your stores start selling for new seasons far too early too?

Perhaps those items are put out early to remind people that spring and summer will soon be here. However it may not be a happy reminder for winter lovers.

Oh man that stinks you are having such a hard time finding them! If you had bought them a bit ago you might have been able to get them on clearance.

We really don't have four seasons to speak of so we get the same items all through the year.

I am afraid you may have to resort to a store close to the slopes, they usually carry the gear year round.

I know, everything for winter is gone and shorts are out. Try online clearance.

Thanks. I am a little bit too last minute to wait for something to ship. My own fault!
