I would give away my sense of taste that way I could easily go on a diet cause if I didn't have a sense of taste I would easily eat tofu and stuff like that. LOL

Great answer! :) What a perfect solution. But wouldn't the texture still bother you?

Baby Smiling - photo of an infant smiling
I have bad eyesight but I would gladly give my sight to someone who had been blind since birth. Can you imagine a moment in your life when you couldn't see a baby smile, the changing of the leaves, the ripples on the lake, the waves gently kissing the shore, the blue sky, a harvest moon, and all the other wonders that we who can see oft times forget how beautiful they are. What better gift could anyone give to someone who can only imagine from what they hear, smell, touch or taste?

Couldn't agree with you more. However, the time frame wouldn't be too important to me. I have been practically all over the world and have seen more than my share of the beauties of this planet. Perhaps you are right that at first it could be frightening for someone but from what I have seen of most of the blind people I have known they see things in a much simpler way and their imagination is their greatest gift.

That is a good point. It sounds like they might be blessed to be able to somehow see all the things that you have seen as well.

I agree - but I wonder how long we would be lending our sense for? Because if it's only a day, I think I wouldn't give up sight... have you heard the Allegory of the Cave? When the man first came out of the cave he was scared and couldn't figure anything out. I would want to make sure the experience of sight was a pleasant one - so hopefully they could keep it long enough to figure out what was going on and not be scared.
