Started working on the taxes

It's that time for everyone, I guess. I started working on them earlier. I didn't finish them, but I plan on doing it tomorrow. I'd like to have them filed either tomorrow or the day after. The sooner they're done, the better. Hopefully, we do get something back, and I suspect we might. And if we do, it'd be nice to get sooner rather than later. Either way, we'll see what happens. It's just something that I'd like done soon.

I fully expected to get a refund this year, as I do every year, so I jumped on my taxes as soon as I could and got them done right away! Only I owed money this year instead of getting a refund. I was less than thrilled when I had to pay more of my hard-earned money to the government.

That's definitely not fun. It must have been quite the surprise to find out that you had to pay. I'm really hoping we don't have to. We could use a bit of extra money.

@moffittjc hopefully, next year, it’s not as big and not as big of a surprise. It’s not always fun when your plans change like that.

@dodo19 I really, really needed that extra money. It sure was a big surprise to me when I did have to pay, plus it ruined a few plans I had for my refund money. I have adjusted my tax withholdings on my paychecks to hopefully ensure this doesn't happen again next year.

Hopefully you get them soon. We got everything in. The last thing we needed came in last Tuesday.

I always liked to get mine done as soon as I could. I don't file taxes anymore. Did you get yours finished?

Yeah, I like getting mine done as soon as possible. Better to just get it out of the way. And yes, I did finish it. We sent it all off yesterday.

We will be going to our accountant later on this week to have ours completed. And hopefully she will have positive and good news for us this year.

We have to see our tax consultant when we get home. We pay quarterly, which is no fun.

Yeah, that's definitely no fun. I'm just thankful we haven't owed anything yet. I'm hoping it stays that way. I don't want to owe more money.

Well, it's just a sad and sick obligation of every citizen specially if the government your paying for isn't doing their job. Good luck with that.

Thanks. It's not always fun for sure, if the government isn't doing their job. Although I do think our current Prime Minister and government is working harder than our last one. That's just my opinion though.

I did mine in late January, paid the man (big time), and have moved on from that misery. Good luck in doing yours.

I hope you get something back. We don't need to do taxes now we're retired but for others they have to be done by the end of June.

It's nice that you don't have to do it. It's funny we have two days to have them filed. Most have to have them in by April 15, unless you're self-employed. Then you have until June 15.

Life happens. I would have started in January too, except we didn't have any of our papers in yet. Hopefully, you can do them soon.
