They say that the eyes are the window of the soul and the soul can refer to the entire person such as when one says that there is not a soul in sight. I went to see an iridologist and she looked into my eyes and tried to see what might be wrong with me. I went because I had heard some good things about iridology. Have you ever gone to see one? What was your experience? What do you think of this practice?

I've never heard of such until today and I'm not sure someone here in this country is practicing that but I'll try to find. Not sure I'd go though.

It is much like reflexology in that every body part and organ is tied to different parts of the pupil of the eye. I like to work on preventing things and thought it might be a useful tool. I went last year also and she said that there was little change from last year and in some areas there was a slight improvement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkrJo-aCjhQ

@toniganzon Right! Based on what they see they may recommend different treatments.

@1hopefulman So it's only for assessment and not treatment?

I've never been to an iridologist but I'd be interested to go. Did you think it was helpful?

I try to prevent things from happening, if I can, and yes I thought it was useful. If you read my comments to Toni, you will see a bit more about my experience and a short video I found on YouTube. I saw that there are a lot more videos and there might be something there.

@JudyEv It was interesting how I met the iridologist. I was at a conference when one of the speakers said something and I heard a burst of laughter from two women a few rows behind me. After the lecture, I was curious and approached the two women and asked why they laughed as what was said was nothing funny. They said that it reminded them of something funny. They were sisters. I was impressed with the beauty and clarity of their eyes. Knowing something about health I told them they must eat a healthy diet judging from their eyes. They told me that both worked in a health store and they looked after themselves. I asked the address of the store and some time later went there and bought a few things. I also found out that one of them worked there a a naturopath and was also a iridologist and a reflexologist.

No I have never been to see an iridologist, I do not even know if there is one in my area. If it is serious it is a method to find health issues, but nothing else.

If iridology is true, it must apply to the eyes of animals too, I would say
While, I have never been to an iridologist, many years ago, I did do a short course on it. I was rather impressed by its ideas at the time. As in all such disciplines, there is always a connection to some underlying truth of sorts. Here it is that the eyes show you illnesses of the body, but because they are known as being a window into your soul, these physical elements of illness are related to inconsistent behaviours of your higher bodies also, in them not being aligned to your other bodies, and so ignoring your soul sight, creates physical difficulties for you then too. Physical illness's can show up early in the eyes, and so can give us a possible warning of any developing underlying health problems. This is the third iridologist I have visited in my life. However, I can't say for sure how useful it is. I found it interesting and would go again if needed. I prefer prevention to curing.

We practice iridology...yes, we are these oddballs who practice holistic everything. If it was was good for our great grandparents, it must be good for us @1hopefulman

So, obviously you see that it is helpful to spot health challenges that might be developing? Do you also practice reflexology?

No but did your iridologist find out anything important. First time hearing of such a profession. Interesting!

I went last year and she made some recommendations to my diet that would help. The good news is that there were some slight improvements to the health of my body.

She is a iridologist and a reflexologist and a naturopath. I had a visit last year where she made some recommendations. There is some improvement. She made more recommendations and I hope next year there will be even more improvement.

That sounds like some sort of ancient medicinal practice where people can just look at you and tell U what's wrong or about to be wrong. I'd like to see evidence that it works!!! or the results!!!

I never heard about iridologist, all he/she does is look at your eyes or do they do some kind of exam?

They look you in the eyes and they read where your body is healthy and where it needs attention.

@nela13 What I like about it is that it not invasive and it doesn't hurt. I think there is some merit in it. Had she spotted a serious problem then I would have followed up and have it checked. I wouldn't totally rely on it but I think that it is helpful.
