Well, It Was Nice While It Lasted

It's been nice not having many doctor appointments these past few months. Unfortunately that's about to come to an end, as it's time to make my followup rounds to all the specialists I see. On Friday I have to see the surgeon who did my hernia repair to find out the results of the CT scan I had last week, then the following Tuesday I have to go to Oroville to see my gastroenterologist. Then the Thursday after that I have pre-op, then the following Friday is surgery to remove my fallopian tubes. Somewhere in all this I need to make an appointment to see my therapist, and I'm also overdue for a visit to my dentist. But that will have to wait. Next month I have two visits with the neurologist scheduled, but I may have to postpone those because they are so closely scheduled with my surgery on April 6th. If he was a local doctor it'd be different, but I'm sure I'm not going to want to travel out of the area a week after surgery for trigger point injections. Anyway I'm not looking forward to any of it. I'm sick to death of doctors. But, it has to be done. Maybe after the next couple months have passed, I'll get another extended break from all the appointments again.

I hope all of those Doctor visits go good for you and after they are all done you have a long break from them.

Thank you. It gets so tiresome constantly running around to doctor appointments.

@Srbageldog Thank you, it is all screwed up right now. Stupid doctor said he comes to our town every other week, not only does he not. He isn't here til the middle of April but he also didn't tell me he wanted to see me 1 week after the surgery so I didn't call til I was home for the week, waited til I felt more human. Now the machine thing he put on me stopped working and I have no clue what that will do and he cant see me til the 23rd and that is from the town a ways away and hubby cant take off more time. Sooo... I'm stressing on the results on if it was cancerous too. Have to wait for it to come back there too.

@Ithink I'm sorry! Were you able to see him yesterday (the 23rd)? What kind of machine did he have you on?

Yeah, it sucks having to go to the followup appointments but that's something you definitely don't want to skip. I hope your tests come back with good results.

@Srbageldog Yes it does. Last year it seemed like if I wasn't in one doctor's office, I was in another. That or having tests of some kind done. It was so nice to have a few days to not have to go anywhere.

@peavey It was the same way for me last year. I'm sorry you also had to spend so much time at the doctors. I hope your health is okay now.

Thank you. I'm glad it's just one appointment a week at the moment and not two or three a week like it was last fall!

@Srbageldog And, it is quite the drive too if I recall reading before?

@infatuatedbby Yes. I always get sent out of the area, so I'm having to travel half an hour to 3 hours away, depending on which doctor I'm seeing. It's such a pain having to take up the whole day just to go to a doctor appointment!

definetly wait on the dentist-i know some doctors won't schedule surgery close to dental work-something about risk of released bacteria.

See, I didn't even know that. All the dentist was planning on doing was replacing a filling he just did last year, but it can wait. I'm in no hurry to pay him a visit anyway.

I absolutely hate going to the doctor. Most of the time I am taking someone else to be seen. WWhile there I listen carefully, I have used what I have learned to help myself and not have to go in myself

Sometimes my sister asks me to accompany her to her appointments, so I spend even more time in the doctor's office. I thought about you and how you always have to take Tony to the doctor. You're smart for using what you learn from others' appointments to avoid having to go yourself.

I really do not like visiting doctors except when it is necessary. I even hate going to the hospital unless it is needed. I just really like the food they serve when you are admitted in a room. That's all. I am happy to hear that all is fine on your side. All will be okay.

Thank you. Yes, going to the doctor (and the hospital) is a pain! I like some hospital food too, but some of it is gross here.

@Srbageldog sure it is. But I am sure it will pay-off soon. As they say health is wealth. Thats sucks. I thought all hospitals serve great food.
