Bus was late

My eldest takes the bus to and from school. This morning, the bus was a good 10-15 minutes late. Sure, it is to be expected when there's a snowfall, but that was quite late and my eldest was getting cold. So, it wasn't too pleasant, especially for her. I was beginning to wonder if it was coming at all. It eventually did. I did keep my other two kids home. There was no way I was going to make it with the stroller, and it was probably going to be a while with the cab. I didn't think that walking them there was the best idea either. So, we just kept them home. Besides, my son kind of wanted to stay home. So, I guess it did work out. I do feel a little bad that my eldest went to school, while my other two stayed home. But such is life. Plus she also just had a week off last week. I'll admit that I probably would have kept my eldest home had the bus not showed up when it did. A minute or two more I would have come home with her.

Yeah it can definitely be fun to play in the snow. Might as well.

Safety is still the most important to drive in the snowy day. Perhaps the driver met some situations and then he was so late. If it is a heavy snowy day, I hope there will be no school day.

I figured it was something like that. He was probably just trying to be safe, which is fine. At least he got there.

I'm so sorry she had to wait long in the cold. We don't have school buses here that pick up children to school. We have to bring our own kids there or they have to go there on their own. My son's school is about 13km away and every single day we bring and pick him up from school as we just don't want him to take the public commute. We find it too dangerous for him. And besides, we only have an only child.

I can definitely understand your logic. I would worry as well. If I had to, I would take her to school to. I'd much rather be safe than sorry.

My nephew's bus seems to never be on time. Often it comes early.

Well, better a little early than late, I guess. Hopefully, it's not always really early.

This week is March Break in Ontario -- no school for anyone.

Ours was last week. I guess it would have worked out better if we had gotten it last week, but oh well ... Not much you can do.

They have a real problem with late school busses in some of the counties, because there are not enough drivers.

It can be an issue sometimes. Usually, my daughter's bus driver isn't late.

Kids hate when that happens. I’m sure your eldest wanted to stay home with her siblings

My eldest wasn't happy to wait in the cold for sure. We only decided to keep my other two home after she was on the bus.

It must get pretty tricky when there is so much snow around.

It definitely is tricky. The roads aren't always good to drive in with so much snow.
