I'm not really into politics or religion but I do like to keep up with current affairs. It's interesting to know what is going on in the world even if it has been all doom and gloom recently. I also like to watch local news too to find out what the weather is going to be like and see what has been going on in my part of the country. Do you watch the news or does it depress you too much so that you would rather not know?

I usually read online newspaper and watch the news online during the day. After dinner I like to relax with a movie, no more bad news.

@LadyDuck Yes it's not the best to have that as the last thing on your mind before you sleep. I'm interested in finding out why it happened to a brand new bridge though. Surely it must have had a safety inspection before it was opened.

@sprite1950 There are so many bad news. I checked the news online before going to sleep yesterday evening and I the first I saw was about the collapsed pedestrian bridge in Miami. I think I will turn off the computer without checking the news before to sleep.

@Lignitecityabishek96 Yes I think a lot of people use social media now but I never know whether that is reliable as you get fake news there.

@sprite1950 Some time we can't trust .But if information goes viral then it should be most probably true .Automatically the true news info will come

@sprite1950 Yes, it's really important to know the world news. We're facing new technology where we can read news online but I still prefer watching it on TV because I'm a visual person.

Everytime i switch on TV I first check the news channels whether there is any breaking news, any live show happening? It's important to watch news channels daily. That's the only efficient way to hear reflective announcements made by government. News on internet comes a bit late and it never had the analysis like in news channels on TV. Neither its a depression nor its an enjoyment to watch news but it's best for us to stay updated about our respective country's system.

@sprite1950 Yes, it is terrible. I heard that yesterday evening and it was really depressing. I hate those news that are about murdering someone (like the killer's child or parents) and giving all the details about how cruel the killer was.

I watch the news because I feel like I NEED to know. Especially when it comes to politics since, like it or not, politicians can have a very serious impact on our lives. So we have to be involved with it to enough of an extent that we can make informed decisions at the polls. I DO take in ALL news, however, with some skepticism. Nowadays there is a ton of fake news out there, and unless you can read between the lines, you will not get the real news hidden in the fake narrative that surrounds it.
