Target Goal: $100,000

So, this year I have decided to kick my writing efforts into a higher gear by assigning goals to reach. I have realistic goals, lofty goals, and unlikely goals. The unlikely goal is $100,000 by the end of the year. It's not impossible, but it would require much more work than what I am actually putting in now. It also would take dedicated commitment to accomplish. The lofty goal is $100 per day. To reach that, I would need to hit $36,500 by the end of the year. Much less than the ultimate/unlikely goal, but still difficult to reach without lots of work. Because I have gotten discouraged over my goals in the past, it was difficult to have fun with the numbers. So this year, I have incremental goals in place, going in increments of 50 until 500, then increments of 100 until 1,000, then bumping up to 250, then 500, before 1000, 5000, and eventually 10,000. Things have been moving slowly because I have been dating more this year, and that has cut into my time a lot. But currently, I have defeated the $50 increments, and I'm heading for $600 now. My excel sheet tells me that it will take roughly nine days for me to reach it. I need to publish more stories to knock it down, so the next goal takes less time. Of course, myLotting has cut into my writing time as well, and now I'm much farther behind schedule than I wanted to be! lol Currently, my spreadsheet tells me I need just under 10,000 more stories to hit the ultimate goal. Good thing anytime I earn a little more, it knocks some stories off the total!

Knocking things off seems to earn a shekel or three, it seems. Not that I have read any of yours, of course.

@pgntwo I guess if someone asks for a pen name, that's just responding to a question, rather than spreading it out among others who didn't wish to see in the first place.

@OneOfMany So easy just to ask "What's your pen-name, where do you write?", isn't it?

@OneOfMany Who knows? Better at times to sin and ask forgiveness than to seek permission in the first place...

It's publishing ebooks. But yes, it's on an online platform. I don't need to involve any outsider if I don't want to.

Where do you publish the stories? It sounds like a good idea, to keep both easy and difficult goals. I don't think I will ever be able to write 10k stories in my whole lifetime. How do you manage to create so much quality, I suppose it's quality, content? Oh dating, it can be pretty expensive by itself. Hope you won't get distracted in the meanwhile.

On Amazon. I have a few that are off Amazon, but it is the easiest to use, with the biggest share of the market. Haha, getting to 1,000 would be a challenge! I'm just saying that the average per story total is what determines the amount I would need. To start off the year, that number was 75,000. It will keep getting smaller the more I earn. I only have 315 partially written stories lined up, and less than 50 published. It's not completely quality. It isn't bad, but it's not high end. And it's short stories, so you only need to writ 3.5k to 5k at the minimum. Higher words earn more though. Writing a novel would eliminate a bunch of smaller stories needed to reach the same goal. As for how? I can come up with plots easily. It takes concentration to not make new ones for me. As long as it is this cold, dating won't be a problem for a while!

@OneOfMany And how did you choose the genre? Did you try to write a different genre before? That surely has an impact, as I've never tried writing... what you write. Maybe I can publish this interview somewhere and make money out of your brand. I usually start dating in the fall or winter, nice to see how things differ somewhere else.

@OneOfMany I see. Well, that's a lot of material you can use, if you add sub-genres. I can't wait for watching an adult movie with sci-fi or supernatural content! Yes, I do remember the 'dark god', but didn't pay a lot of attention.

I am waiting for your review at the end of the year, where you will write the goal you reached. Which websites do you work for?

I publish on Amazon. I self-publish my own ebooks that I create content and covers for. Throughout the year, I will be updating my progress as I hit goals. When I hit $600, I'll let people know. Currently my chart says 9 days, but I hope to hit it in five.

@OneOfMany You must be a very good writer! I knew that it is possible to sell own ebooks on Amazon, but it is new to me that you can be successful with this and earn well. Keep us updated about your progress!

@anikoonline I don't know about 'very good', but I do create enough products to stay in the game. Hard work and effort usually results in some kind of reward... but luck is a factor as well. I can work hard on one book and sell no copies, while barely taking an effort and selling hundreds. It all depends. Most of the authors there will tell you that 'luck' is the thing that makes or breaks people.

10,000 stories! All under one genre? Whoa. That does require alot of time and effort. Hope you achieve it. :-)

As I've mentioned to others, the number does change based on the average number of money per story changes. In just the last several days, that number has become 8,900. That's a full 1,100 less stories to write! XD In the meantime, I'm aiming to write at least 140 more stories this year. It will take long enough to reach that. :)
