Favorite "Color" Bands #12 - White Zombie

Do you even realize just how many bands out there have a color in their name? I like so many of them that, instead of my steadfast ten, I had to go with 15 in my countdown of my favorite bands with a color in the name. We are at #12: White Zombie. Led by vocalist Rob Zombie, White Zombie was formed by the singer and his then-girlfriend, bassist Sean Ysuelt (who has also played in The Cramps,) in New York City in 1985. Originally a noise rock band, White Zombie eventually left that behind in favor of a groove metal sound. The group managed just four studio albums and 12 singles before disbanding in 1998. But oh, were they a lot of fun! You could actually dance to these guys as easily as you could bang your head to them, and how can you not love a vocalist that treats the word "yeah" as the most important word in the English language? I once read an interview with Alice Cooper. When asked about the shock rockers that came after him, Cooper declared that he enjoyed Rob Zombie the most, because he was "the only one that seems like he's having a good time." Yep. White Zombie was a blast! (YEAH! info verified by Wikipedia)

I have heard of them, but I had never heard them before. I must say that's a completely different sound than just "regular metal." Then again, Alice Cooper wasn't just "regular metal," either.

Did you notice how many times Rob uses "yeah?" I always lose count!

@teamfreak16 -- I gave up trying to count "yeahs" after "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Thank for sharing. I know I can always count on my musical education here on myLot. I am not too thrilled by White Zombie but I will explore further on YouTube. I know one time I decided I was not at all into a certain kind of music but then did discover some songs I did like.

I was an Alice Cooper fan. My music was all over and still is depending on my mood. Oldies, rock, country, jazz...Cupid, Pit Bull, Three Dog Night, Led Zeplin, Drake White, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Billy Joel....

That is the way it should be! I never understood people that only listen to just one style. They are totally missing out.

They're definitely one of my favorite bands, and I love Rob's solo work. I didn't realize Sean Yseult had played with The Cramps. I heard rumors that she was the new bassist for Ghost, but I think it's been verified to be someone else (there was a telltale finger tattoo and ring on the bassist).

Ooh, that would be cool if she were in Ghost. I've liked what I've heard by them. I looked it up, she's currently in Star & Dagger.

@teamfreak16 Yeah, it was someone else entirely.
A ring and finger tattoo seems to have given away the identity of Ghost's new female bassist!

Welcome to Planet X... too bad we can't complete it, otherwise we'd get censored by the site!
