How did you meet your partner?

I met my partner 15 years ago through a work colleague who was also a good friend. I had been single a while and asked if she knew any available men. She told me that her brother, who was around the same age as me, was single and said she would speak to him to see if it was ok to give me his phone number.
The rest is history, we spoke on the phone and arranged to meet and have been together ever since.
How did you meet your nearest and dearest, was it just a chance meeting or was it through someone else as in my case?

After I graduated in high school, my English teacher told me that someone was searching for a secretary with good knowledge of English in a financial office. I went there for an interview and I started to work the day after. My actual husband was the youngest associate in that office. We did not start to date immediately. I appreciated him little by little working with him. After 6 months we started dating and after one year we got married.

@sprite1950 We are happily married from 47 years now. I am glad I broke with my previous boyfriend when I realized that my husband was my soul mate.

@LadyDuck I do envy you finding your soul mate because although I am happy enough with my partner I don't feel he is my soulmate.

Divorced and looking..I have ties with my ex, but wish I didn't. It is a bit more difficult to meet someone in this age group though I will say..what I run into often are young guys looking for a cougar kind of set up..
..not really my thing..I would prefer someone closer to my own age.

@sprite1950 My sister and brother in law met when he came to her house to check out possible pollution in the stream behind her home. She noticed he was not wearing a wedding ring, and the rest is history!

Never give up though snowy because you can meet people in the most unlikely places. I know someone who met her husband when he came to the wrong house. He was a delivery man and she helped him find the person he was looking for!

@Courtlynn Well I suppose it is but you can meet a nutcase down the local pub. It's just when you see someone face to face you have more information and can get a better idea of what they are like. She had another boyfriend she met off the same site before this one and they dated for 2 years, I didn't like him though as I don't think he treated her properly.
