Big Job

Today, I am defrosting our huge freezer. I don't know why it freezes but it does.
It is a huge pain as I have Raynaud's Syndrome and my fingers do not like cold at all. But I have no choice, it must be done.
I emptied the big freezer last week, so now after it is completely defrosted, we will go and do a considerable grocery.
Can't wait that the whole task is done. Not one of my favorite for sure.
Do you defrost your freezer often?

I am not a fan of cold either, maybe you can wear gloves to help out. Never defrosted entire freezer before but my mom has when we bought a new fridge/freezer

when we have power outage, defrosting the fridge is done automatically.

Our freezer has an automatic defrost system. Our only trouble is removing the water that was stuck on the bin under the freezer. And whew it smells really awful.

No. Our refrigerator has an auto defrost.
But when I was a kid I remember my mom doing that to our freezer. She would do that manually.
But technology has changed here and when auto defrost came, we just used that kind of ref.

I haven't in a long time but it does need defrosting. It is such a tough job. Glad you were able to get it done.

In three weeks my freezer must be empty in order to move it half way across the country.

Our freezer defrosts itself but our old one didn't, I hated when it would freeze up with all that ice and I had to clean it.

I don't know why one would need to be defrosted. They are supposed to keep things frozen so I'm quite confused.

I have a chest freezer in my garage which gets defrosted about 2x a year. Not a fun chore at all and hope you get yours done without too much hassle.

we only have the regular freezer, with the fridge so don't need to defrost it. but I did hate doing it back when we had a big tall freezer.
