Having a puppy in the house

We recently bought a cute 3 month old Japanese Spitz female puppy. We named her "Yukiko". It means "child of snow/child of happiness". She's so adorable that most of our attention recently is on her. What I love about her is that, in just two days of staying in our home, she was able to immediately obey us for her potty training. And today she now learned the 'Sit' and 'Stay' command! We're so excited about teaching her other commands like 'heel' and 'play dead' and other tricks. She's so intelligent but she's a bit too playful. We bought her lots of toys to play with and chew on but she still likes to chew on other things like slippers and rags. We really love her so much though even if she's a bit naughty. Do you guys know of any training method for her to stop chewing on other stuff besides her toys? Or any tips on how we can take care of her more?

Wish you posted a photo of Yukiko. Sounds like a cute pup based on what you wrote.

I was supposed to upload one of her pictures but my internet connection is acting up when I've posted this discussion. Hopefully next time I'll post a picture of her for you guys to see. :)

Hello, we have also Pomeranian dogs. You should choose the right dog food , protect your dog from toxic foods, and provide an adequate amount of fresh water for your dog.

Yes. We always make sure that she have water 24/7 since she plays a lot she also drinks and eat a lot. We're taking extra care for her since she's still a pup and does not have all her immunization shots yet.

You dog sounds adorable. Maybe get a bitter apple spray..to spray on things you don't want chewed. I have heard that works to keep pets from chewing things you don't want them to.

Just keep taking the things away that you dont want her chewing on and giving her one of hers. Make sure you tell her no when she has your stuff. When they are in the chewing stages it can be hard.

That's what we're trying to do. We just need to be more consistent I think because there are times that we didn't even notice that she's already chewing on our stuff because we're busy doing some other things.

I really can't say. It is their nature to chew. But come to think of it, place some red pepper flakes on an old sock or old shoe. If that stops her from chewing on things, then make sure your top quality shoes and stuff is out of her reach.
