Finally rains come to cool temperatures

The late February and March had seen some unexpectedly warm days in and around Delhi NCR. The winter rains were also very scarce. So it was a nice relief to get some rains that have helped cool down some bit. There was a dust storm first which had fast winds and lots of dust. It made dome billboards to fly away and a few more things to fall in the market. Then drizzling started. It is much cooler now but we have power cut since last two hours.

We have had rains the last couple of days. The impact would be noticeable on our April power bill. I don't remember how it is in Delhi, but in Hyderabad, it is after 12 that we start feeling the heat. In fact up to 2 it is somewhat bearable. So what we do is, switch on air conditioner around that, and keep it on well into night, switch it off around 5 in the morning. Summer becomes more bearable. The only hitch is, when power goes off. Our other way of lowering the bills is using cooler. We use it in April, and in the night we use AC.

The un-seasonal rains, though brings a quick relief it bring a lot of diseases along with it, not good for children and elderly people.

The dust storm was quite strong. My eyes, face and hair faced the brunt of the storm. But thankfully rains also came.

We have begun to have some drizzles lately, just enough to help the gardens from drying out. So far so good . (The pouring type of rain is not too nice.)

Yesterday night we had some quite good rain. It is not that much normal during April summer time but it is good as the temperatures were shooting up fast.

The cooler temperatutes must be a relief. Is the heat in India a dry heat or is it humid?

@Starmaiden in places in Southern India and coastal cities of India like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata it's hot and humid for most of the summers. In Northern India cities like Delhi, Amritsar, Kanpur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Patna, Agra, Jalandhar, Lucknow etc, summers are very hot and dry till June and from late June to August it's hot and humid with rains.

Do you live around Dehli? Glad it is cooling off some. Is it considered summer there currently?
