I have a certain girl in mind to introduce todays music trivia songs. We will be using ladies' names with the "letter G." in our clues today. Our video artist today was blinded at the age of 7 by the eye disease glaucoma. This tune is probably about a woman, but it became the official song for this state. The artist was also born in this state. The song's performer began playing piano at the age of 3 years of age. The singer of this great tune is Ray Charles or as his friends called him RC. Well, those were some interesting facts on the great Ray Charles who Sinatra called a genius. So, as you give the tune a listen, here are my favorite G-named girls for our trivia quiz today. Lets name the songs and artists: Do you know the answers to the following clues? 1. The song was written by the group' lead singer and was titled after his cousin. Jimmy Page did some session work for this band before going on to fame for the Yardbirds and Led Zepplin. What is unusal about this song is that it S-P-E-L-L-S out words in the lyrics. You might know the singer's moniker, "Van the Man." The singer went on to a successful solo career with hits like "Brown-eyed Girl, however, this girl named song was recorded with his Northern Irish R&B band. The tune became a garage band classic. 2. This English singer-songwriter and actor was a leading figure in popular music for over five decades, acclaimed by critics and fellow musicians for his innovative work. His early 70's work included a concept album called The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. He adopted the Ziggy character in concerts by wearing wild costumes and makeup which helped overcome his shyness. This 1972 tune was actually inspired by a blue jeans company and written to entertain a lady friend who did their commercials. You could argue the two names in the song's title could be boys or girls names. 3. This Scottish folk rocker wrote this 1968 tune while in India studying Transcendental Meditation. The song was arranged by Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones who also played on the track. It also features an Indian influence with the use of a tambura, a gift to the artist from George Harrison, who also helped write the words. The song features some interesting lyrics referencing his meditation teacher and a close associate called the "roly poly man", who come "singing songs of love". This musician also wrote other interesting titled songs one called, "Mellow Yellow" and another "Sunshine Superman" (also arranged by John Paul Jones). There is our musical trivia today for G-named women songs. Good luck and use those clues! Enjoy the continuing series, comment, check out the trivia answers and see if their your favorites too. And as always, thanks for reading my music post!!! Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- twitch.tv

I protest! Where’s “Georgia” by Boz Scaggs???? I know she’s way down below the ocean with that guy who did #3, and as she’s not a brown-eyed girl she’d never appeal to “them” people in #1. Can you hear me, Major DB?

@dgobucks226 -- pretty sure Lido is a he, given all the masculine pronouns used in the song. Great song, though.

Yes, I hear you ground control and point and well taken Four Walls! How did I forget Boz? That is a great song selection and the input is appreciated. Let's make up for that omission with another Boz number I've always enjoyed. Not sure if the song title is an actual girl's name, but with a bit of imagination it very well could be....
With the Steve Miller Band for their first two albums, Boz Scaggs carved out an inimitable niche for himself and soared on his own with many hits starting in...
