Not Cancer

I wrote a while ago about my husband's operation to remove some growths from his scalp, face and chest. We have just had the results of the lab tests and thankfully they were not cancerous. The site on his scalp has still not healed properly and a nurse continues to come twice a week to dress it, but my husband has no pain from it. He's in good spirits too. The consultant doesn't want to see my husband until two months time, so that in itself is encouraging. Thanks to all of you who sent good wishes and prayers our way, we appreciate it. I am glad for this good news Janet. I hope his scalp will heal soon, at least he has no pain. Now you can breath better.

That is good news indeed. Skin cancer is very prevalent in Australia.

I'm not surprised at that. All the damage to my husband's scalp is due to too much exposure to the sun when he was ignorant of the dangers (as we all were in those days). At least it's not cancer, as it was a couple of years ago on his cheek. Then he had to have a course of radiation and I thought he might have to go through that again.

@JudyEv - Skin cancer is common in California, too. I'm glad Janet's husband will be OK.

@JudyEv The only time my scalp was burned was when I visited Australia. I took it easy thinking my skin tone would take care of the brunt of the sun - siva

Thanks SmilePie - yes we're very relieved that all we have to do now is wait for his head to heal. I thought we may have to go for radiotherapy, like he did a couple of years ago, so we're very happy.

My husband's were all caused by exposure to the sun when he was younger. We didn't know the dangers then, did we?
