“Is CROSS-STITCHING an ART?" If it is,...

then I am a master of doing it. If you can see in this photo, I had created these two "Mona Lisa" and put into frames. The half-size Mona Lisa was created when having my OJT in a special children's school in 2008. Cross-stitching was their school project at that time. I got interested to learn the proper way of cross-stitching and it is also a way to support the disabled children. The smaller one was created in 2013. Unfortunately, I don’t have it now. My granny asked for it and gave to her daughter. A daughter who turned to be an evil now. “Have you ever tried cross-stitching?” “Do you think it is an art of work?” Image Credit: Shavkat

Of course it is a kind of art. It needs a lot of patience to make a good piece of cross stitch. I am not good at it but my mom likes it a lot. In the past she made some very big size cross stitch pieces and they are hanging like paintings at home.

It is indeed a Mona Lisa. I always look at this frame while sitting in the living room. Convincing myself that I will create more in the future.

I consider to be a work of art yes and it should be so. My best thing is writing not so much manual things but I have done a couple of good ones too but ages and ages ago. Don´t even know what happened to them.

@Shavkat Yes and I did them when I was small but I was much better at drawing much to the dismay of my Sewing Teacher who nearly came unstitched trying to teach me her skills. I was not a born seamstress that´s all.

It has been a long time that I haven't a piece. But I will do this again if there is more time. It is quite challenging to accomplish it. The half-sized frame has 58 colors needed to form the image of Mona Lisa.

You've done these really well. Not many men do cross-stitching. You need to be very exact with your stitches. Well done. They look lovely. I'm sorry you've lost one to your aunt.

@Shavkat There is a myLotter, Kevin, who knits a lot and sells his work through an Etsy store. I can't remember his username at the moment. Not many men knit either. Do you knit as well?
