Tony Schwartz (who co-authored Donald J. Trump's The Art of the Deal) explains that "Confirmation Bias" is "the instinct to see new information as confirming what you already believe." https://youtu.be/ZHXookUQFCA Lord Jesus Christ sort of described it when He told His audience "... he who seeks finds ..." (Matthew 7:8). He was essentially saying, 'If you're not looking for something, you probably won't find it.' The human already believes that he understands the world, so he takes information that confirms that belief as "instantly true." For example, you might believe that 'politicians (especially Trump) lie.' So you don't spend a lot of time looking for 'confirming sources' and just instantly believe anyone who reports on Trump's latest lie.
