Do you read the ending of a novel first?

I have friends who told me that they will read the end of the novel first. If they like it, they will read from the start. I don’t quite agree with them but they said that a lot of people do it as well. Do you read the ending of the novel first to ascertain if you will like to read the book from the start?

I will usually go to the middle of the book and read a page or so. This way I can get a feel of the authors ability!

I don't want to rush things out. So no, I don't read the end of the novel first.

I tend to read the first page. If I don't enjoy it, I know I probably won't enjoy the rest of it. I could never read the last page until I actually get to the last page. Some people are just bonkers!

Never. If I can't get into the preface of a book, I won't bother reading it. Normally I know by the end of the first chapter whether or not I'll like it.

Exactly, you know right. What is the fun of watching the end and go back to the beginning after that?
