My Cat's LifeForce Was Awesome

My cat had a painful infection. We (my roommate and I) had spent a lot of money trying to help her feel better, but all I could do was hope her condition improved while I was away (at a retreat in Red River, NM.)
It didn't. In fact, it got so bad that my roommate had to take the cat to the vet & get it put down.
This was about half-a-year ago, but I just heard this story (my roommate says they told me, but we were so distraught that either-I couldn't remember it or -they weren't thinking of it to tell me about it):
The doctor gave her the drugs that were supposed to kill her; but Her heart kept on beating.
She WAS brain-dead. But her heart kept on beating.
We had the doctor give her ANOTHER drug that stopped the heart.
I guess it's just a testimony to the fact that Our Father's creation is faithful to Life 
(A shame that 'that word' is also the title of a cult-classic Patrick Stewart movie about naked vampire aliens, but ... 'what can you do?')

My nephew has a strong life force and a will to live that defies the imagination. Doctors have been telling his parents (my brother and his wife) to not expect the boy to live past two years of age. He was born with Downs Syndrome as well as Dwarfism and many other complications. He had two open heart surgeries when he was a toddler. As he grew, he didn't have the use of his legs and got around on his rear end. At the age of ten, he finally gained the use of his legs when his parents worked with him to teach him to walk.
At age twelve, one of his lungs collapsed and he now has to breathe and be fed through a tube.
The boy is now 20 years old, and a marvel to his doctors as well as an inspiration to me and my family.
