My late grandmother was always cooking sticky rice cakes and other dishes during weekends when all her grandchildren are around and playing. I always saw her cooking from the scratch and love to watch her cooking. I enjoyed helping her in the kitchen and asking about the ingredients. She never gets tired answering my questions back then. She was very kind, understanding and always smiling. My husband and I really miss her. Now I am trying to replicate her sticky rice cake made from coconut milk, brown sugar, glutinous rice, and pumpkin. The ingredients are available in the public market and it's cheap but hoping I can replicate her sticky rice cake .

I wish you luck. You won't ever be able to exactly duplicate it, though, because your grandmother added her love for her family. Yours will taste a little different but you'll love following in her footsteps. My grandma didn't write a lot of things down. I have her doughnut recipe and she refers to a pinch of this and a dash of that. Since I used to watch her I know how much those measurements are but many people wouldn't. I'll have to get exact amounts someday when I think of it.

Yeah, you're right. She taught me lots of her personal recipes and the way she cooks it but still can not able to exactly duplicate it. I am just my best to cook it if the taste is different at least I tried. Thanks
