It's tough to return products than to buy a product

Recently I bought a phone from Amazon. It was delivered on 26th . My wife received it and didn't check the display of the phone as she did not remove the sticker pasted on the screen. But when I removed I found a minor crack on it since then I have been trying to get it replaced. On 28th I contacted customer care they told they will send a technician to know the actual fault. He came and made a report that it got damaged in transit. Them their executive came with a new phone but didn't replace it saying that it wasn't damaged in transit and made an excuse that he didn't have the confirmation mail of replacing the phone. I thought then why the hell he came with the new phone. I complained to their customer care they said once the replacement is refused or not done they don't send it again, my money will be refunded. Then I contacted them many times but didn't get any positive response from them. Finally yesterday they said this phone will be picked up today which they have done and money will be refunded in 6-7 days so I am waiting for my money to come in my account. I am seriously fed up and now thinking that I won't but anything online as its not easy when you have to get the replacement if the product is faulty. Have you faced any such problem ever?

Usually Amazon is quick with returns here in the states. I hope you get your money back first soon.

@LadyDuck Yes, same here. The refunds are immediately if not, but maybe he purchased from 3rd party and it is not sold by amazon?

@infatuatedbby I never purchase from 3rd party because they cannot deliver to Switzerland, I only purchase when the product is delivered by Amazon.

It works very well also here in Europe, I never had bad experiences and I am ordering from Amazon since 2002.

I regularly shop with Amazon and so far have had no problem with replacement or refund. They come over and collect the stuff and either replace or refund.

@LadyDuck I would hate to repack and put labels on the returns and that I do not have to do. I just dump them in a bag and they take care of the rest. It it is a food item even though food items are not returnable they are kind enough to refund me if I convince them that the item is not in accordance with what I have ordered. I send them an image of what is sent to me

@allknowing The few times I had the problem, they refunded telling me to keep the product, or throw it.

So far I have no issues with my online shopping. However, I agree replacing or exchanging is a tedious task through online shopping.

Usually they are willing to refund than replace.I think you should accept that and buy a phone online.I have not experienced that with a phone.

I find Amazon is really good with returns and refunds. I am surprised to hear you are having trouble. Did you contact Amazon directly or the seller. I always go to Amazon directly.

I have replaced products and it was quite easy and quick. I prefer flipkart for its better customer service policy.

I have to return an item that I recently ordered, but have yet to receive. My husband is not happy with what I ordered. Hoping that the transaction goes smoothly.

I'm sorry to read about the problem you had with the service. I faced a problem with customer service but not from amazon. It was a Prizma smartphone that I bought from the shopping tv channel, it was cheap, it started to make problems 1 year and a month after I had bought it. The customer service fixed the phone slowly, and it was still not good, the touch screen didn't respond most of the time, then the audio got bad, then the phone just got turned off and no one was able to fix that. I think it can help if there is a group of users who share their experience together. Maybe on facebook, maybe on a familiar page on facebook that belongs to the company who sells the product or make the product.

Phone waiting for return
I bought one from Flipkart on 21st but it had networking problem so I requested a return, they immediately sent an engineer and he agreed. They sent me another one yesterday but it had the same problem again. I requested refund and they deputed another engineer today. He agreed and the site has sanctioned refund to me. I am waiting for pickup maybe tomorrow. It's not as difficult as we think, not on Flipkart at least.

I never had a problem with Amazon, I order from the United States, Italy and France, the only time a product arrived damaged it was immediately refunded.
