Hello everyone! It has been six months since I touched base with anyone here on myLot! I am so sorry for just leaving with no warning and not coming back for so long. We had several things happen here at Lovejoy Junction. Keith started his new job in November and it has been great. We packed up and moved in December and we really downsized. I had to get rid of so much stuff. You never know how much stuff you have until you move. Now, I know exactly how much stuff I had to get rid of to make the move a success. I was rather heartbroken over several of the things I had to get rid of but such is life. We are all settled in now at the new house and things are as normal as they can be for a family of 5. My dad had a bad health scare a few months ago but last week we got some good news on him. My mama finally got everything settled with my aunt's estate so they are no longer under that pressure. Now it's just the normal everyday things that are happening. Of course, that still leaves me crazy busy at times. I hope that things are going well for all of my friends here on myLot! I look forward to seeing more of everyone!

Even if your still crazy busy it sounds like things are calmer now after all the craziness the past 6 months. I'm glad to see you have popped in here to update us. 6 months away was a long time. I was happy to see you comment on my post and came to your page to see what you have been up to

@shaggin Thank you so much. I was away for a long time. Moving sucks and when you move and have to get rid of so much stuff it really takes it out of you. Then since our house is so much smaller the things I did keep I had to find unique arrangements for be it in the house or the storage shed. I am glad to be back and I can feel the love!

You are so right, when you have to move you realize how much stuff you have and most of the things you have are not used from years.

@LadyDuck Good luck. It took my parents and my aunt months to get rid of my Aunt Helen's stuff and my Grannies stuff as well. Aunt Helen had all of her stuff as well. I hope that you don't suffer that same problem.

Glad to hear things are going well for you but it certainly sounds like it's been a busy 6 months. Good luck with the new home and yes, downsizing can be stressful.

@Marilynda1225 It is very hard but it had to be done. I could not afford the storage fees in our area and we just did not have the room.

@Shellyann36 It's hard to sacrifice stuff we want to keep when we move to a smaller place.

Good to have you back. I'm glad your move went well. It's always hard to downsize and get rid of things that have been part of your life forever. I'm glad your husband's job is going well. I'm sorry about your dad, but glad, he's okay. Also good news for your mother getting your aunt's estate settled. What is normal? Welcome back!

@just4him Thank you so much. We have found a nice church that we go to now. I can literally see it from my front porch. Things are looking up for us.

@AmbiePam No it was December when we moved, no garage sale. I gave away everything that I could find a home for and then donated the rest to a local thrift shop.

@arthurchappell It is a big relief. He has smoked so long and I was truly thinking the worst and preparing myself for the worst. I think the rest of the family was feeling the same way.

I know exactly what you mean about down sizing when we move. I moved from the northeast to Florida. We stayed for a month at a relatives and got a storage unit to put our things in until we found out what we were doing. I got rid of so many things and gave away most of it as I didn't start packing up until a couple months before we left. It was an experience and one I do not want to do again. Good luck with your new surroundings to.

@ramapo17 thank you very much. I really wish that I had started earlier and tried to sell some of the clothing that belonged to me online. I think I would have made a nice chunk of change off of some of them. Live and learn.

@Shellyann36 I wish I did it to as I had so much crystal from my mom and mother-in-law. We just did not allow enough time to get everything done.

I can totally relate to you about moving in. We have moved from Philippines to Korea. The downsizing and packing gave me a lot of stress. If could only bring all them here.

@Courtlynn Thank you we are so happy. We really didn't move too far away. It is only about 6 miles from where we were to start with but we do have a different zip code. Thankfully, the kids still go to the same school. We are very happy about the good news with my daddy.

Its good to hear from you, and congrats to the hubs( and you and your family) on the new job. I feel for you, when we were younger we moved whenever a better jobs showed up. ( we rented back then for that reason). My husband had a goal and about 25 years later he got what he wanted and we moved to Canada and life is good. Now we are both retired and both still working only because we love what we do. It wasn't easy to move with the children when they were small but we certainly did down size with stuff...I hope your are enjoying your new home and new life.
