The water continues to rise

Just looking at pictures of the water levels just makes me feel heartbroken for all those being affected. People have lost their homes and the water continues to rise and will do so until Sunday. I have seen pictures of some of the campgrounds that we frequent and the trailers are floating, completely destroyed. These are campers who are seasonal and are set up in the parks year round and they have lost everything. The yacht club that my boss belongs to is over 100 years old. The water is halfway up the doors. They are hoping they will be able to save it. There are farms that are completely underwater, houses with water up to their roofs and cars floating down the river. It is unbelievable. I have lived here 33 years and my fiance has lived here all of his life and we have never seen flooding like this before. There is usually flooding every Spring and people prepare for it but there was just no way to prepare for this and if it wasn't bad enough there is heavy rain in the forecast for the next few day. We will probably go for a drive in the next few days and take some pictures.

How awful ! What measures could the government put in place to ensure that doesn't happen in the future? You say it is a yearly occurrence.

I am not sure what they can do. It does happen yearly but not to this extent. It is worse then it has been since 1973.

That is so sad! Stay safe!! We have flooding but we live up from the creek, however a family that lives flat with the creek gets flooded every year. Luckily so far it stays about 30 feet from the house.

That is terrible news. There is very little that can be done to protect land from flooding. The water just keeps on coming.

Where is this? What place and what country? That must be some severe rainfall for the water to flood like that. So, so sad. So many people will be displace and affected. And the diseases that usually follow. Here, it's always some virus. How do you all plan to cope after? Our government give relief here to the affected people.

It is in Eastern Canada and it is caused my the snow ice melting in and along the river. The government will give assistance to the affected people.

No where we live is not affected and where I work is by the water but we are up from the water quite a bit so no danger of flooding uptown.

That sounds so devastating I hope that you and your family remain to stay safe. God bless those families and workers who don't have a home, camper or a job to go to because of the water.
