myLot teaches about life itself. In fact, our leaders would do better if they do a stint here to learn from the “likes and responses”.
JJ has taken pains every now and then to explain how myLot works. He has laid it threadbare but it goes over the heads of some obviously. That reminds me of what Yasser Arafat said – when I point to the moon, some stare at my finger instead!
myLot teaches the basics of life:
1. We need to know what is enduring and the quick fixes that come unstuck too soon. Understand the pulse of others and will them to like and respond.
2. When to talk and when to listen; the balance needed to coexist.
3. Understand and empathize with fellow members and certainly not “my way or the highway”.
4. Share with good grace what is given with a take others have earned it when they get more.
5. Play by the rules or get ignored or, worse, blocked!
6. We need to give before taking what is given; no questions asked.
7. It is the philosophy of karma, the law of cause and effect, in action here just as in life.
I want to dream myLot has the potential to solve the unemployment in poorer countries. If there is even a glimmer of hope that one can make $10 a day, then I dare say millions will walk in trying to make a living from home! And it does not even seem work then, but the unadulterated joy from no holds barred interaction. That will lead to world peace and coexistence.
No saber rattling but four eyes across the table rather than name calling on Twitter! That will be a boon for people like me in the evening of our lives, but we have to remember the reality of life – if wishes were horses beggars would ride!
Instead of adding to the coffers of arms merchants let us make a pitch to our leaders – walk in here and learn about peace and coexistence and realize how it will be a reality without weapons! Please invest here just 1% of the weapons budget and set us free to soar higher and we will prove to you how it works!
Am I dreaming? Respond then and I will wake up from my reverie to get back to reality!

I learn alot here too in mylot. Give and take and hopefully no hatred. Also, we need to respect people rather than instilling what we think is correct. We may learn from listening.

@Shiva49 I agree with you, Siva. We can actually co-exist if all people will allow others to voice out their views and thoughts without someone attacking them and telling them it is wrong.

@mlgen1037 I take a view all thoughts are inspired by our creator and we are given the freedom to choose our path.
We have to own up and be responsible then for what we do and that is fair dinkum.

Yes, I like myLot for the reasons you have quoted above. In fact I have already initiated a discussion 'Ten reasons why I like Mylot few months back where I have discussed about these things except for dreaming about those $10 a day thing!

@Shiva49 yes and the special purpose that mylot serves is unique and great. I saw some of that in wikinut but that site was a bit more serious and professional like.

I have been with few sites over the years and myLot is special.
It serves a higher purpose of uniting people of different cultures and beliefs.

I agree with most of what you say. Mylot is a place where I love to come back again and again.
And yes even a little pitch towards peace and peaceful co-existence would make a big difference.

I find so much of coexistence and acceptance of others' views and the attitude of "live and let others live" here. We know that is what the common folks want everywhere.
And in the real world, we fall prey to the machinations of few who want to profit from trading arms which are now used to threaten others. It is time we got our act together to divert funds to those that unify us - siva

I had in mind those who flex their muscles and browbeat others - lords of all they survey.
"Either you are with us or against us" kind, talking down to others.
Sites like myLot show the way towards coexistence and deserve encouragement - siva

@allknowing myLot is a microcosm of the world - "it takes all kinds to make a world".
Occasionally I do get responses which are unwarranted but it is their problem!
I stick to what I like so I enjoy my time here.
I know it may not be of interest to some but I can live with that.
I comment without prejudice on discussion topics where I have something to say.
I don't spend much time here, so I miss most of the posts - siva

Many people earned way more than that at Bubblews but the world problems were not cured and it just encouraged cheaters so I guess we are better off in our little MyLot World.

myLot has better governance than all the other sites I have been on.
Bubblews payments were not sustainable obviously
What keeps the passionate among us to persist here is the camaraderie more than the earnings.
Thanks for the reality check but I believe the small community here shows how we can coexist despite the many nationalities and cultures we form part of.
I was just wondering how it would be if we can promote unity in diversity on a larger scale.
Now even poorer countries are forced to spend more on weapons than on food and health and that vicious cycle has to be broken.

It's very true that on sites like this we learn a great deal from each other. We learn to listen to others' points of view without getting het up about things. As you say if that could happen across the world in real life, it would be a great step forward.

We have become cynical to an extent we brush away such thoughts as unworkable and not even worth considering. However, I believe sites like these serve a higher purpose and need all the encouragement and through them, those who persevere to make their sane voice heard.
Billions are spent even by poor countries for acquiring arms and then the resulting itch to use them. So I think 1% to promote world peace is well worth considering! siva

Most find it tough to make the payout of $5 every month now; still, we have many logging in and interacting. This is the reality for now.
I was thinking aloud if these types of sites that promote unity across all manmade divisions are able to get a wider audience, then it will promote peace. Sadly, few are setting our agenda and dividing us due to their greed and ego. We should step out of this trap - siva

Lovely articulation!! yes we learn a lot here..give and take, peaceful coexistence and most importantly playing by the rules...all of them are important life skills. So enjoy the game but be fair and abide by the rules

More importantly, we are showing how to coexist.
Just give us 1% of the defence budget so that millions will play their part 24/7 to promote coexistence the world over. We have people from all over here and at $10 a day of hope down the line, world peace can be had without nuclear weapons!
99% wants peace; let there be true democracy in action! siva

A great love provides us with great dreams. Respecting and loving others brings peace to all. Love is at war with no-one.
What are the basics of life for me?
The basics to me are basic, a love for life, for God, and for your fellow man.
Everything else follows from this basic-est of positional stances of yourself within God, and his world.

@Shiva49 Thanks siva, You make some good points there.
Last night, I heard these words in my dreams.
"Let your day be a night of love."
What could that really mean for me though, I thought to myself in the morning?
I guess our day is our life here, and our night will be our night later spent in Heaven, or in the other Worlds.
We should live heaven right here now then, or fill our life up with God's love, and then our life here will be like a night spent in Heaven, with love, peace, and with the light of God, at our side.

@innertalks Yes, we need to put our shoulder to the wheel to make an impact, at least try to make a positive impact. We should be clear about our intentions than just complete the journey, add to the numbers.
Our awareness is there but we have fallen into a trap.
Dreams guide us but then again our leaders who matter have different goals. That makes it all the more important we live our lives on our terms to the extent possible than take them as fated, a done deal.
We should chip away and over time our collective writ would then run - siva

Yes, Steve, the basic issue that is plaguing us is the lack of love or the love being put on the back burner. We are being led by those who have self-preservation as their guiding spirit with no thoughts of the plight of the vast majority. What stands in their way of tackling our issues is their pride, ego and greed.
The path being taken now is others should lose for us to win while the sane path is where all are winners.
We need a change in our consciousness and then the right path will open up - siva
