Why don’t tattoos just vanish over time?

I know that this sounds like a silly thing to ask but I don’t know how tattoos work. I thought that skin regenerates itself just like hair and nails but if that is the case then why don’t tattoes just vanish from the skin? Does anyone here have the explanation for this?

Hope this answers your question
Ryan C. asks: How do they make tattoos permanent? In other words, how do they get tattoos to remain even as your skin is constantly regenerating? Depending on the source you consult, anywhere from 14 to 23 percent of American adults and about 24% of Britis

stabile pigments usually aren't absorbed by the skin.it's like having an implant.

Good question and that website that Lucinda supplied gives a good explanation. I don't have any tattoos and don't like them. What do you think of them?

The ink is already embedded on the skin, impossible for it to be removed.

I never had. I personally think that superficial layer was totally scarred.
