A Change That Does Not....

When my eldest Son was very small well about eight or nine he was always complaining about the colour of his hair. I told him that millions of women would give the earth to have that kind of colour hair. Just because I am his Mom does not mean to say that he was going to be convinced about all what I said. So a few days later I went to the shop which was a kind of Perfumeria and other household thing sold there. She was laughing all over her face. So I asked what was up. She told me your Son the eldest one has just been here asking me for a hair dye to change the colour of his hair and of course I was not going to sell it to him for anything. I did laugh a lot but of course I put on a straight face when I got back into the house again. I did not mention it to him what she had said as I would be hearing the issue all over again and again. He just did not realize how lucky he was to have that colour. I have that colour in part even now. Have a great weekend all and some things never change and I wonder if Prince Harry loves the colour of his hair?

Hello. Your son is such a cutie. Why does he hate his hair color when it is so beautiful?

I really don´t know I think that he felt it made him stand out a lot and he was never comfortable with that colour its very natural and thank goodness my friend did not give him the hair dye.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Your friend is smart enough to do that. Maybe during those days, he wasnt into being different from the others and want to be like the rest.

@mlgen1037 Yes it was like that and he was only interested in playing with his closest friends and not being singled out as being different although he never was really singled out only by the Moms the other ones that loved his hair to bits. Suppose he did not like the fuss made of him

My eldest son as a Schoolboy in England....
Thank you Bun. I think men with red hair can be handsome and they stand out. A lot of them don´t like their colour hair very much. Here he is at school and his hair colour there is like mine was and still is underneath.

I have always liked red hair. I do what I can to encourage mine. I thought for a while my son might be strawberry blonde, but he was not. It is funny about your son. Perhaps he was teased? Back when I was very young people often said redheads were bad tempered.

He did have his tantrums and more than most I can tell you and his most famous one where he threw himself on the floor of Heathrow Airport and cried like somebody was killing him all for nothing too. Everyone glared at me as if to say poor little boy and that is the way him and his red hair has always been. He might well have been teased and I would not know of it because he has always been very secretive and would keep all that to himself. I had red chestnut coloured hair all my life up to now but the colour is still there on a sunny day you can still see it as highlights.

It was a very bright coloured ginger at first and then it turned to a more copper colour and a bit darker but he was still a red head. He got called carrot head and that he did not like.

@just4him Thank you very much. I never talk about his hair colour because now I am hearing about the colour of his daugher´s hair instead which is much more carrot colour at the moment.

Sometimes the same and his daughter has the same colour hair too more or less but much brighter in ginger at the moment. He has not changed too much with time. I take it with a pinch of salt and not let it bother me.

@arunima25 The grass will always seem greener on the other side yes and I know people would wish to have had his colour hair also. He gets it partly from me which is quite a lot as I was more a gingery chestnut colour and his Dad is also a bit of ginger.

I think it's just a matter of time. I might see him in the movies someday doing a sequel of Notting Hill.

Is it possible that he is being picked on because of the color of his hair? I know other children can sometimes be cruel. I would tell him that changing the color is only temporary and won't change the fact that his hair is the color it is. Show him pictures of successful people who have the same color hair. I doubt Prince Harry dislikes the color of his hair. If he did I am sure he would have changed it at some point in time.

Not that I know of and I think if they did it was to say that he was English which is a bit silly because there are a lot of Spanish children with almost the same colour also. About Prince Harry I was just wondering there if he felt the same as my Son did at the time nothing more than that. Yes he would have changed his colour for sure but he has not and its sort of his trademark for being who and what he is.

Actually it turned darker over time but its still dark red chestnut much like he is in the photo as when he was at school. He has never dyed it to this very day.

It doesn't matter if Prince Harry loves the colour of his hair. His wife Megan seems to love it! :-) What is your son's opinion about his hair now that he is older?

Lucky for me it has gone a bit darker than before. I mention Prince Harry because the colour of his hair is much like my eldest Son´s and he is a rebel and in truth he has always been outspoken and a bit of a rebel also.

No. Because I am his Mom and he was quite small to do things like that. I told him he was lucky to have strong healthy head of hair.

Guess its just one of those things. If it had not been the hair colour it might have been something else he would complain about just the way he is. A non conformist.
