I've been wanting to 'accuse' the Christian Church of "slander"---calling St. Thomas (of the original 12 disciples) "Doubting Thomas" because he wouldn't 'believe' Lord Jesus Christ was truly risen until he saw Him "in person." Really, my current 'living situation' (dependent ... living with my mother) is partially a result of The Church's teaching that dismisses St. Thomas's 'carefulness' by slandering him---implying that he doubts Jesus when in-fact he only doubts 'unproven testimony' ... the same way you would doubt it if your roommates or house-mates told you I had been seen walking around your town! How does 'shaming Thomas for not believing in unproven testimony' translate to my unfortunate living situation? Well, 'The Church's slander of Thomas' convinces many Christians to trust 'all people' (not 'obviously lying'-people, but the common citizenry) as if they're "speaking The Gospel Truth" ... In my case, I 'trusted' that "being in a school-zone on a field-trip" meant that drivers would be extra careful (so I wouldn't have to look both ways before crossing the street). That trust was broken, resulting in a traumatic brain-injury. And again--when I thought my parents were pursuing full legal settlement for that injury--they convinced me to sign a far-far-far less-than-sufficient settlement (by positioning it as 'a stepping-stone to get to the multi-million dollar rewards they told me I deserved'). If The Church had upheld Thomas's wisdom in doubting the disciples, I might have a) been more careful at the 1995 Oklahoma Bandmaster's Association high-school marching-band contest or b) (if the TBI had still happened) would've told my parents, "No ... make the settlement 10-times that much, with the condition that--when you win me the many millions of dollars that I deserve--we might give back 90%."

Finally, did the Judge and the jury find the $$million settlement to your parents--on your behalf, favor? Did anyone take full lawful responsibility to pay for your hospitalization? I'm so sorry about your unfortunate accident.

not quite (so I call it 'my current living-conditions' rather than 'my past struggles'). I'm sure all the 'hospitalization' costs are taken-care-of (either by my parents or by ... some other legal settlement). I was only 14 at the time of the injury, so my parents have to handle all the litigation of that matter.
