I'm In The Mood To Redecorate

Have you ever gotten up one morning and decided that everything needs to be updated? That's how I feel this morning. Well not everything needs updating but I really would like to have the whole interior of the house painted. I've been living here for 8+ years now and the walls are all still builders paint (dull and some kind of beige). I've been able to live with it for all these years and made it all pop with bringing in color accessories. Now everything just seems dingy even with my attempts to brighten it up. Of course I don't have the money to do everything I want so I'm going to start with deciding on the colors I'd like for each room. That in itself should take awhile since I'm afraid if I pick a color I'll change my mind and want something different I have to go to the hardware store in the next few days and will pick up some samples of colors that intrigue me. I would also like to change the carpet I have on the stairs and hallway upstairs. It's the only place in the house that has carpet as the rest is hardwood floors. Maybe the fact that my deck will be getting done soon has made me want to continue from outside inside. At least all this is keeping my mind busy and it's fun to mentally redecorate even if I can't do it all right away. Do you have trouble picking out colors when you're looking to paint a room or do you stick to traditional off white or beige walls?

We are having the exterior of our house painted in July. Anne has been devoting some of her time to picking out colors, then showing them to me. I will be pretty happy with whatever she chooses.

I dont always stick to neutral colors i do like colors for sure. I live with my parents again so i cant go painting the walls like i wish i could at times to brighten it up in there, cant wait to do my own thing again and paint walls and have fun. Just probably another year and i can get out on my own doing my own thing for sure. I really would like to move my room around at my parents and redue some things and probably have help. Would love to be able to put more things away in my closet and make that look a little better too. Would like to get some things that are in the garage into my room so my parents dont have to keep getting mad with all my things that our in there garage.

The walls here were already painted before we moved in. So I will leave them alone. We did buy new furniture when we moved. My other furniture was old. So we just donated all of it.

We rarely do anything to our house. I would love to paint the walls but I'd rather hire someone to do it..I would not enjoy painting walls myself...

That sounds like a lot of fun. Yes, I would love to redecorate the apartment, unfortunately I can't do that. Have you considered starting with a model of your rooms? I think you can do that online so you can see how the colors will look.

I normally stick to light green paints as they give me a feeling of closed to nature and next color i prefer is light blue as reminds me the vast sky! These colors makes the room to look bigger , brighter and cool! Thanks!

I would love to redecorate, but it takes dollars. It is so funny you brought up this topic, because last night I dreamt I was painting an accent wall!. I think I am going to paint the steps though and add some landscaping around the mailbox for curb appeal.

My grandmother seemed to enjoy carpet so there's green carpet in my room. There's some tile placed in other parts of the home. Tiles are easier to clean.

We like a slight hint of colour on our walls. But nothing outlandish as we are very conservative when it comes to that, we are afraid of tiring of it and its easy to switch up the accessories then it is to have another painter in and have to go thru the entire process of choosing the right colour again. Flooring is something that we both enjoyed choosing, we like traditional flooring, hardwoods or even the soft lenolium, or whatever that is that comes by the roll. I find it easier on my back.

I stick to warm traditional colors for the inside walls, no white, but some shades of beige (sand, bisque, tan). I changed the carpet in the living room in November, I would like to repaint the outside of the house, but it's a bit expensive to do.

We have no choice but to stick with white walls, because of where we live. But I have wanted to paint the walls a light blue and pink, as those are my favorite colors. I have also wanted hardwood floors, but we are stuck with carpet everywhere besides the two bathrooms and kitchen which are tiles. And, on top of that, we are due for new carpets, but they wont change them. been 4 ish years now.

I love soft colors and can immediately choose colors for certain rooms. However, my colors are mix paint, either the hardware does it or I do. I don't like the colors in the chart. And everything has to be soft, bright and cheerful. I hate a room where , as soon, as you enter, everything weights on you. Off course all my ceilings are white (for space).

These days I have a neutral gray-green called camouflage which I love and have in 2 rooms and a hall. I grandaughter Jeanna's boyfriend Spencer is a contractor and he is going to do a lot of work for us here in Connecticut while we are in Florida next winter. Painting and flooring and stuff!! I am mighty excited.

I love so many things, that I need the services of a decorator to help me decide. Whatever you do, remember the colors should flow from room to room. We enjoy changing up the rooms every few years.

I used to but now I have the office a real color and the spare bedroom purple. The kitchen is pale gray. I just changed the bathroom by getting a new shower curtain and lime green rug. I bought a new comforter for the bedroom with new curtains too. I need to paint the other rooms.
