No Going Out Of Her Way....

Hiya Everyone.... Yesterday when I was out in the town there was supressive heat that could really get to you if you let it. Although I always walk in the shade on days like this I went under the subway to avoid the direct glare and blare and noise of the heat and crazy traffic we have here. That is not what upset me really. What upset and startled me a little was lady with a smartphone or tablet in her hand tapping away and with her attention right on that gadget. So much so that she was looking where she was going at all. I tried to avoid her by going to the right and she still kept going without looking so I quickly went to the left. I nearly collided with her trying to avoid her and she started to get really irritated because we were disrupting her attention from that smartphone or tablet thing. So I stepped ahead of her altogether as I was having none of that trying to avoid her any more. I ask you I wonder what she does if she has to cross a road say? Wonder what she does then? Smartphones and tablets are great but you have to look where you are going as well out of respect for yourself first and also for other people that are around you whether you like it or not. Oh well I hope I don´t have to dodge her too often that´s all I can say.

People like that are dangerous. They cause accidents to themselves and those around them.

Only too true except for the fact that until something happens they will keep doing it. I have not seen her today thank goodness.

@just4him She is a fast walker as well you see so I had to be super quick or trip myself up to go with it and also the man beside her. He was not very pleased with her either.

People are too much involved with their phones and hardly aware about the consequences. Many people got killed while crossing the railway line without knowing the train is coming as they are busy on using phones.

That is so true. Its very nice to have a smartphone but its even nicer to stay alive and well to be able to use it as well. She was absorbed with whatever it was and getting annoyed with us and not herself.

@Sreekala I should say so. What does she want a very nice smart phone for if she cannot watch what she is doing when out and about in the town? Its much nicer to be alive and enjoy "being" with others but alive and safe.

I think she is quite weird and strange. If she continued to do that, I will confront her.

@Shavkat I think its only normal also. Before it was no better in a way as people fixed their attention on other things instead and although it distracts she should pay more attention for her own sake and safety.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I think if it is in a big city, it is inevitable to meet this kind of people.

Or she could have stopped using her smartphone while on the street because of possible danger. Accident is there.

I doubt that someone like that will do such a thing right away. They do not know what they are doing till the harm is done by the look of it.

That's annoying. Was she just walking? I would say "Excuse me" loudly... maybe that would bring her back to reality

I don´t think she was on this planet right at that moment. But she did tut away to herself and so I thought oh so you are here then and went on my way several fast steps ahead of her.

And those are the people who think that others should adjust for them and when you bump into them for doing the right thing, they get mad.

Yes, I was doing a sort of country dance trying to get out her way and she just kept going. I wonder what she was looking at on that screen so intensely?

@mlgen1037 Whatever it was she was very concerned by the look on her face and was not happy it seemed either with having to pay attention to her surroundings and what was on the screen of the phone.

I agree, some people are on their phones way too much. When you're walking down the street, you should pay attention.

@lovinangelsinstead21 We always have to be on the look-out for others since they are not fully aware of what they are doing or where they are going.

@1hopefulman That is true you know. What we have to watch out for here are others that do more or less the same thing but never mind all in a days work.

Bicycles are used a lot here but they are used by good people that don´t go too fast and try to run you over even though they go on the pavements which they are not supposed to do really. Its a crazy world for sure.

There should be a proper place to use that thing. People don't understand that if they do that on the road unknowingly endanger themselves. This is why I still use my old phone and didn't bother with the new Iphone, android, smart phone thingy. Can't blame her, it's her generation of advnaced phones. There should be laws in when to use the phone for entertainment.

People are getting fined now for using their phones when they are crossing the roads or zebra crossings. It makes a lot of sense in a way. I don´t blame her for using her phone just not to bother others as we have a right also.

That is so dangerous. I'm positive she was conducting very important business that affects the world on that phone of hers.

She could have fallen over going down that slope the way she did. Maybe it was very important to her at that time yes.
