I eat about twice a day. And when I'm looking in the refrigerator I always 'remember that I forgot' the numbers I look-up at the link. http://www.healthycalculators.com/calories-intake-requirement.php The link tells me I should have 2164.05 calories-per-day (1190.23 carbohydrates, 324.61 proteins, & 649.22 fats). And then I wonder 'which foods to get which percentages of my calories from' ... any suggestions?

I don't count calories. I watch WHAT I put into my mouth and the rest falls into place. I also do pretty intense workouts as often as I can at my gym.

I guess this is a good place to start looking if your health starts to "malfunction."

I've never counted my calorie intake but I do watch what I put in my mouth just what @NJChicaa has said. I try to eat healthy and as much as possible avoid processed, canned and junk foods.

I have never calculated the calorie or protein content of the food I eat. Take a little of each food, not too much. I think that's ok. If you want to lose weight, eat less meat. Eat more vegetables and fruits. That would be very helpful.

Sad that you think "monitoring your intake" is 'maniacal stress.'

I counted calories when pregnant and nursing only because I wasn't gaining weight. So I did it to purposely gain and be able to nurse. Now after talking it over with my Dr I'm on a higher protein diet. I aim for 60 or less carbs a day from grain items + meats and fruit / veggies. I'm working out daily and trying to lose fat and gain muscle.

It's a shame that the word "diet" somehow indicates 'feeling too fat & trying to get rid of the poundage' the same way 'being good with numbers' somehow indicates "you're a geeky nerd"

Eat what you want and forget calorie counts. I've counted calories for years and it never worked. I realised that I can lose weight while eating all of my favorite foods if I just cut portions in half and eat in moderation. Excercise and hydration is the key to losing weight.

Why do you think I'm talking about 'losing weight'?

@Starmaiden because 'that's what all food is.' Possibly because my brain cannot sense 'when I am full-enough.' Because too many calories from one food-group or calorie-type can unbalance your diet, setting off your tinnitus or other reactions.

Fortunately, this is not something we have to worry about @mythociate We get plenty of food, but what we eat, mainly fruits and veggies, don't add up to much!

Maybe you're young enough to do that. In my 30's, it started to hurt me if I eat too much at the wrong time of day.
