How many of you use a pressure cooker for things? I used to have one for rice. Do any of you still use one for rice and do you use it for other things as well?
How many prefer a crock pot? I love using a crock pot. So far I have used it to make chicken but found out can use for other things as well.
I love mine and cannot live without it. I still use pots and pans to make things too..

I am one that use a pressure cooker every day. I take one or two every time I go to Australia (and also their spares like safety valve and gasket) I love the speed of cooking on pressure cooker especially the vegetables and Dal. I have a separate cooker for rice though!

I use both, my pressure is an updated electric pressure cooker, you would have to work very hard to hurt yourself with it. It is much like a slow cooker now days. I like the pressure cooker to make things fast, like oh no what is for supper. I can put frozen chicken in it and in about an hour or so have a nice warm meal. I still like my slow cooker for things like a butt, chili or beans. I like the flavor better. So i use both and like them both

That is very interesting. I just made rice in mine and would think crock pots were the ones that people made stews in.

Many people use both. It could depend on what you like to cook.

so now, based on others' comments, have you noticed that many cook rice with their rice cooker and not on pressure cooker?
we don't have a crock pot, and our pressure cooker is no longer in use, only the rice cooker.

we used to use pressure cookers for meat years ago, but after having a couple blow up , i decided they were too dangerous and my nerves would not take it. i love crock pots these are the best things ever and you can cook almost anything in them

Aren't we lucky theses day that we have a lot of choices when it comes to cooking utensils unlike when I was little , I remember we only had two.. a pot and a wok .. that's it ..

The crock pot is a bit too slow for me, I prefer the pressure cooker even though I don't use either much anymore.

I love slow cooker. You're right, it does chicken well. It also does well with beef , I was going to say pork too, but uncertain if you eat that.
I have never used a pressure cooker, but I would like to give one a try

Faye, that was nice of you to think of me. No, I do not eat pork but if you do that is ok. I love having a crock pot.

I have used my crock pot to make terrific stews. I have never used a pressure cooker. I like the idea of being able to leave the meal slow cooking all day. It's so easy to prepare.
