My city, my lake.

Canada
June 2, 2018 11:46am CST
This weekend my small maritime city will host the National Canoe/Kayak sprint tournaments that will be the deciding factor of who gets to compete in the Pan American Canoe/Kayak races in September. Both of these tournaments are being held on Lake Banook in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Lake Banook is just one of the lakes in my neighborhood that has a wonderful beach in summer that I frequent. (There are 3 lakes in my neighborhood) Lake Banook was also chosen to host the Canoe/Kayak World Championships in 2022, hosting 70 countries. I will be either at lakeside watching these tournaments or viewing them from my balcony. The photo from google images.

I like the tranquility of the place. I am sure it would be fun time to have boating in this body of water.

It has a prestigious canoe club. Kayak and canoe races take place here every summer.

Hi Lucinda. I wish We have a lake here near our place. All we have is a bay 1 km away from us.

I grew up by a bay. I don't think there has ever been a time in my life when I didn't live close to a body of water. I love the water.

This seems like an interesting tournament. So the banks of these lakes would be quite crowded these days.

You'd be able to see the Canoe tournaments from your balcony? You must have a great view from there then! All I have is a kindergarten with kids screaming all day.
