Started Out Great

Yesterday when I was on FB I received a message from a cousin, and found out she has a specialty shop near where my son lives. I also found out she moved here permanently from Arizona, where she was a part year resident, living there in the winter, and here in summer.
Her specialty shop, just happens to be a place my grandson loves to go quite often, so I decided to introduce them this morning. I haven't been so excited about anything in a long time as I was introducing my grandson to his cousin. He was blown over to find the people he knew, he was related to. I also met her grandson, also a cousin, and the same age as my grandson. It's great they have a lot in common and already knew and liked each other, and now they know they're related.
So, this morning was laundry day, and what turned out as a great day in every way, turned into a very painful day, as I once again fell in my son's basement. This time folding my right knee completely under me, and canceling out the fitness center for next week. It's the same knee I hurt when I fell off the curb. So, the cane is close by once more. I've also taken Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.
Tomorrow I have church and a graduation party to go to, and I intend to go to both. I have my niece's presents ready. So, I'm going to take it easy the rest of the day.
First, I'm going to get these notifications done, but I'm going to log off and take my Chromebook with me and put my knee up, in bed, this time and not the recliner.
Everything was going real well with the knee. I was walking better than I had in a week, and almost no pain. All that changed in a blink of an eye.
I hope your Saturday is going well. Now to get settled in bed and take care of the notifications. Thanks for reading.

If you saw the obstacle course of a basement, you'd understand. My grandson set up a tent down there, that takes up 90% of the space. I tried moving it a little so I could get through with ease, unfortunately, that caused me to lose my balance and landed on the floor again. My son said he's going to make certain my grandson takes the tent down. He said he also hurt his foot, the one he broke at work, down there too.

@jstory07 He likes absolute darkness when he sleeps. He says the light from the back door shines down into the basement, so he put up a tent. It's been difficult getting around the basement since he did that. My son is going to have him take it down. This is the second week in a row I fell because of that tent.

I hope that your knee right's itself soon, I know the feeling of having it give out on you, I had it happen once last winter and I have been very frightened ever since of it happening again. Getting old is no fun.

@just4him Yup I totally get it, I was in my husband's very messy storage closet when I fell.

@BelleStarr I'm sorry you had a fall in his storage closet. My son is going to have my grandson take down the tent.

No, it's not, and I can only hope it heals fast. I hate not being in the fitness center. Yes, getting old isn't fun, but when accidents are aided by obstacle courses, it makes it much more difficult. My grandson has a tent set up in the basement where he sleeps, and it takes up most of the space.

So sorry you hurt your knee again! I hope it doesn't happen again, and gets better real soon!
So good to hear your cousin is near by, and that everyone already liked one another!

This fall had nothing to do with dizziness on my part, but rather the limited space I had available to me in the basement because my grandson has a tent set up down there. I was trying to move it just a little for added space when I lost my balance and ended up on the floor. If it weren't for the obstacle course in the basement, I wouldn't have had any problems. My son is going to ask him to take it down. He was also hurt down there with his foot that he broke at work several weeks ago. This is the second fall I've had in the basement. Last week I didn't hurt myself, and it was the other leg that got caught on the tent.

I hope it does too. Thanks. I'm back on my computer after fighting between the laptop and the TV. I opted for that instead of my bed, much more comfortable when it came to the laptop. However, I can't myLot and watch TV at the same time.

I'm so sorry for what's going on with you. I hope things get better soon. My physical therapist told me not to be in a rush to get off my walker for just that reason. One bad fall and you're back a few steps and then everything takes longer to accomplish again. I will keep you in my prayers.
