I cant believe this school year is over! My babies are all growing up! I can't believe this one has graduated and will be going to college at Stanford University in just a couple months! What an amazing accomplishment and she hasn't even started college yet! I couldn't be more proud of her.
My oldest son is still figuring out what his next step in life will be. He is 20 and I don't mind. I miss him though. He lives with my brother and I rarely see him.
My middle son is just finished up 10th grade, which means he will be a junior next year! It goes by so fast, and before I know it I will be shedding tears over that one graduating. This will be a trying couple of years. He has some things to work through and figure out. My daughter knew what she wanted and was so determined and driven. He is still trying to find his path.
My youngest son will be in middle school (6th grade) in August! I can't believe my baby boy is a middle schooler. We dyed his hair bright blue and green and he has these big beautiful earrings to match. He wants to binge watch every episode of RuPaul's Drag Race and American Housewife with me. He is awesome! I love how his personality is coming out. I'm going to love puberty with this kid. He is so fun!
My middle daughter just graduated Kindergarten. Yep, I had 3 graduations this year! All 3 of my girls have summer birthdays, and she will be 6 in July! First grade already! I can't believe how fast these kids grow! She was my baby just a few years ago. I remember when I was pregnant a couple of years ago, she still wanted to breastfeed. Now she's nearly 6 and wants to make YouTube videos with me!
And my baby! Oh my goodness! She will be 2 in 3 months! What?! Didn't I just have her? She's a toddler now, making her own decisions. She's a demanding little one, and she has everyone wrapped around her little finger! My oldest daughter will be 18 on Friday, and when she goes off to college she will miss the little one the most. I know those two will be Skyping all the time. They are so close. In fact, the essay she wrote about wanting to make a better life for her baby sister was how she stood out to the people at Stanford. They made a note to tell her how much it touched them. I love that even though they are 16 years apart, they are as close as sisters can be. My middle daughter adores them both.
This is definitely an important year for all of my kids. There are big things going on. I am in therapy and I'm trying to make decisions to move my life into a positive direction. I am writing some things and working on my businesses and working at home. I carry a lot of baggage and mental illness from the trauma I endured as a child and adult from sexual assault and rape. I think so much of my life was sabotaged because I didn't know how to deal with it. I just tried to move past it, but if you don't unpack all of that baggage, it weighs you down. I don't want to deal with it, but I feel like a lot of people have gone on to have decent lives, while I was left in pieces. That's a message for another post though. I'm writing and working my way to a place of healing. I don't want my daughter (or sons) to struggle the way. I did,
I'm afraid I won't be here for all of my kids' big moments, but I am going to enjoy every single one that I am here for. They are the reason I live, I breathe, and I have the strength to get up every morning.
Happy Sunday!

I have often heard it said that boys do better if they take a year or so off after high school. They just have a harder time knowing what they want or need to do.

Congratulations to your daughter getting this place to study. Wow. Good luck taking your life in a positive direction. You past was horrible when you were being mistreated. I hope that the future will be happy for you and your children. My disabled son has just turned 11 years old and my 8 year old daughter will soon be 9 years old. I can imagine what life will be like in 10 years. I wonder about their future places of study. My disabled son wishes to work in a zoo when he is older.

Although you'd had some very hard places in your life, it sounds as though you have some wonderful children and you love being their mother. I hope you are able to deal with the effects of the traumas you have suffered and heal so that you can be the best grandma in the world when the time comes.

Wow, such an uplifting post. Sounds to me like you are the master of your own life now and doing pert near perfect. Yes I know it aint all perfect but that is exactly why it is. It aint what you face in life, it's how you deal with it and if your enthusiasm and love come through to your children the way it did here then honey you are definitely doing something right.
Congratulations to all the kids.
