She split his forehead open....

The friend who I saw yesterday invited me to stay for dinner. Before we got dinner started, I was sitting outside with my friend, her daughter and 2 of her daughter's friends. We were just sitting there talking and laughing until my friends daughter totally flipped out. One of her friends came up behind her and pretend to strangle her. It was very light and playful but she got upset and angry. As this was happening, I had a quick flashback to something that her dad did to her that maybe could have triggered her. I won't tell you what it was but just something pathetic her dad did to her when she was younger. Anyway, she got off her seat, grabbed a broom and ran after him. He was just laughing and even though she was angry, we knew the broom was just for scare. But she did use the broom to whack the ground as well as her trampoline to where he quickly jumped into for protection. ( it's those big trampolines with the net around it ). She hit the pole on the trampoline a few times and the brush snapped off the broom. I couldn't see her friend as he was hidden behind a wall but all of sudden he started crying. My friend's daughter ran to her mum shaking and said that his head was bleeding. My friend and I got up and I was just expecting like a small cut but oh my goodness. The broom or the brush ( still don't know how this happened ) literally split his forehead open. It was like watching a horror movie. The blood was pouring out into his hands, all over the trampoline, then the grass then the bricks. We helped clean him up and applied pressure to his head. Long story short he ended up going to the hospital to get 3 stitches in his head but wow, I've never seen that before. I felt so bad for him. He was a trooper though. Definitely something he can tell his school mates about. Was an interesting night indeed.

Head wounds bleed more than other wounds. I am wincing at the stitching part. Poor thing!

@Daljinder So true. It's why it happens a lot on wrestling shows because it's so easy to make it bleed to look real. He was a brave thing. He did well with it all.

@Daljinder Well I actually heard that the wrestler will use a small blade to cut their forehead on purpose to make it bleed.

@VivaLaDani13 I didn't think of that. You very well could be right about that. Since the fights are "Set up", blood sure will add to making it look more real. Though I don't understand getting myself beaten up and bleed thingy! The pay is awesome but still.

I got an upset stomach just from reading the description and visualizing the accident. Blood spilling and me don't do too well together. Glad it wasn't worse!

@1hopefulman aw no I'm sorry. Didn't mean to cause any upset stomachs! I know how blood can make people feel. And yes I am glad it wasn't worse too. Very lucky boy.

@1hopefulman I always turn my head too. Not because of the blood though. I actually don't know why I do it to be honest.

Oh wow, sometimes those freak accidents can be so traumatic, I hope he heals soon and she doesn't feel too bad.

@cintol You're exactly right about that. It's amazing how things can change from ok to dramatic in a split second. She did feel bad to the point she was shaking. She said sorry a lot and he took it well. They were laughing and playing when he came back from the hospital so it was all ok.

I know how it can happen from flash backs from horrific things that happen from what happens when we are younger. There are things that have happened to me that I know without a doubt that will cause a flash back and cause me to become extremely violent. One thing for sure is that NO ONE had ever be abusive towards any kind of animal when I am around. I guarantee that I will beat the living daylights out of that person and would more than likely put that person in the hospital in the intensive care unit. There is never any telling with a person what might trigger a flash back that would cause the person to become violent or with drawn and would hide from the people close to them. I know one thing for sure, if I were ever to be approached by my brother I wouldn't hesitate to become violent towards him and would arm myself and attack him and brutalize him beyond belief. That is totally opposite to my usual nature of being a gentle loving person who will go out of their way to help people, including people that I don't even know. I hope that if necessary, professional help will be sought for your daughter and the whole incident is treated with a LOT of compassion and understanding. The compassion and understanding is extremely important! Give your daughter a bunch of huge hugs from me and tell her I totally understand what went on and why what happened happened. My hugs and understanding goes out to you too, it's hard as a parent to cope and understand totally the sudden flash backs and actions that goes with the flash backs....my hugs go to you too.

@BearArtistLady Thank you very much for your response Toni but I'm afraid you've misunderstood my post. I don't have a daughter or any children. This story was about my friend's daughter who accidentally hurt her friend with a broom.

@BearArtistLady I'm still so sorry but I feel like you've still misunderstood my post. She didn't attack her friend on purpose. She was hitting the broom on the trampoline and the brush part snapped off and hit her friend in the head. I was the one who had the flashback of something that happened to her when she was little. She wasn't having any flashbacks. I mean I was thinking about the time her mother told me something that happened to her daughter. I am terrible sorry about the flashbacks you have. I'm very sorry for all the terrible things you've been through.

@VivaLaDani13 Sorry about that! Still your friend's daughter needs a lot of understanding and compassion. It is so hard to understand what goes on when a person is traumatized and has flash backs. Even now I have them from the fire that claimed my home and contents in 2017. I can't watch anything with fire in it or even be close to a fire. I come totally unglued and will sob uncontrollably. I not only lost my personal possessions but I also lost all my business records and supplies and worst of all I lost my beloved animals...both cats and dogs. It's still hell even talking about it.

Oh, trampolines are dangerous. The only time I broke something, a finger, was because of a trampoline. And a kid. But we'd never blame kids, right? It must have been very scary, but glad he's okay now.

@sabtraversa Well it actually wasn't the trampoline that caused his head to split. It was the broom that his friend had. Yeah he is fine now which is good.
