Winning Drought

It has been forever since I won anything. Of course the biggest thing I've ever really won is books. I win lots of books. I haven't won any in awhile, which I guess doesn't matter since I've got a whole book case of books I haven't read yet, including a bunch I won. I received two notices from Goodreads a couple of months ago advising that I had won a) On The Up by Shilo Jones, and then b) The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager. After several weeks of not receiving these I notified the publisher, as instructed by Goodreads. In the first case I tweeted Penguin in the U.S. and in the second case I tweeted Penguin Canada. They did respond to both my tweets and I did receive the first book. I am, however, still waiting for the second one. I should probably contact Penguin U.S. Oops, just double checked, though different Twitter accounts, they are both Penguin Canada. As Goodreads is a U.S website I'm wondering if I contacted the wrong "company". I received a book in the mail last week. I thought it was one of those books but I just checked the title - In The Shadow of the Lighthouse by Pamela Ann Cleverly. I just took a look at the emails and the books I received. This last book I have no email saying I won it, which leads me to believe it may not be from Goodreads. When I looked inside I found the book to be signed by the author and a bookmark. I have no idea where this book came from. I checked my Goodreads shelf it is not marked as "want to read" which you must do when you enter giveaways. So it came from somewhere else... A little research and I see it is a book listed on the giveaway list from Writerspace.com. I didn't think I was ever successful in winning from there even though I kept entering. So I guess I won it from there. It sure would have been nice if they had put a note in the book or sent an email. For all I know I may have won other books from this website. So 3 books won in the last couple of months after probably over a year drought. Not too bad. Now to find time to read all these books. I recommend if you want free books and you want to research new authors and/or genres without spending money, enter the giveaways at these two websites. Now where is that trip to Hawaii I've been trying to win?

I'm glad you won three books, and received one, hope the other two come soon, if they haven't already. As for finding the time to read them, they're not going anywhere so I'm sure time will come up soon. :) My sister has won books too. I THINK from Goodreads, but I don't quote me on that lol.

Not only have I received all three books, my dms on Twitter prompted the publisher to send me one by registered mail AFTER I told them I had received both books. So I have 2 copies of a brand new $35.00 hard cover book. I'm wondering if I can get some good money for it on Amazon.

@tammys85 I can't do it right away. I noticed that the book has yet to be released so I would have to wait until it's on the market.

@Friendlypink @Marilynda1225 Hawaii or anywhere else tropical I've been entering giveaways for. Heck, a washer and dryer or car would be good too.

I won a $100 American Express gift card last year, but before that it was years and years.

Congratulations. I am on Goodreads as is my poetry book BTW. The last time I won anything was back in November when I won catnip toys for my cat. Guess what? My Sid checked them out, enjoyed them for two days and is no longer interested.
